Nasa kwarto na si Kylie. Si Mama hinahanap at pinapauwi si Papa. Pero tama lang na maghiwalay muna sila. Habang nagpapababa pa ng emosyon lahat.

Milly:
Have you talked to her about what I said?

Kairos:
Oo. Bumisita ka raw dito.

Milly:
Great. I'll be there next weekend.

Kairos:
Anong plano mo bukas?

Milly:
After my lessons, I'm visiting the kids. I'm taking my sisters with me. They messaged me kasi. They wanna come daw.

Kairos:
Kasama si Clea?

Milly:
Yes. She bought them gifts daw so we'll distribute them tmr. I also need to talk to the sisters to check if there's more we can do.
Need to see if the uniforms and school supplies of the kids are still doing good din. Baka some are in need of replacements na.

Kairos:
Ikaw ba ang nagpapaaral sa kanila?

Milly:
Not me. It's Lolo's foundation who sends them to school.
But I buy the necessities and the rest. You know, toys, games, meds. Just to make sure they don't miss out on anything.
They don't need to lose their childhood just because they weren't adopted yet and I try to be their door to that.

Kairos:

Milly:

Do you think it's wise to look for them?

Milly:
Your mom's biological family?

Kairos:
Oo.

Milly:
Nevermind being wise. Do you want to? Will it make you feel better?

Gusto kong malaman bakit nila iniwan si Mama sa ampunan. Tingin ko dito nagsimula bakit siya nagkakaganito. Takot na takot maiwan. Takot na takot mawalan ng kontrol sa lahat ng bagay. Baka pag nahanap ko sila, mabawasan yung sakit na nararamdaman niya.

Milly:
If it will ease the questions in your head, then I'll support you. But you need to be prepared, baby. The answers we find may not be pretty at all. It may not be what we wanna hear, even. There may be a reason why they left her and that could help ease the pain. But there might not be any.
Sometimes, people just leave. No real reason why. They just don't wanna stay or keep us.

I know the feeling of knowing you have another family but you can't even reach them.
But baby, the one you have right now is your family too.
You said your lolo wants to make it up to your mom because they don't wanna lose her. That they love her, still.
And that they've always loved you.
Filial bond doesn't just start and end with blood, I realize this now. If they love you, and you love them, you shouldn't deprive yourself of their presence too. You deserve to be w them, blood or not.
Just thought I'd say that.
