Most of the Naruto series showed Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry and how it became a centered thing. After all that character development, an epic fight, apologizing to one another, confessing... they eventually became friends again. That's what I like to see.
Eventually, Sasuke decided to leave the village to see the world from a new point of view, and who's stopping him? He needed to do that.
