Flashback:
Trayvon, Alyssa, and I buzzed with activity in our apartment, setting the scene for a memorable night with our closest friends, who have become a vital part of our lives, our family.
Marcos and Javier, the problem solvers they are, hauled in a long table to accommodate the evening's spread before he and Javier went to the training grounds; after the training was over, they would be tied up in a meeting with the higher-ups to deal with the pack and business paperwork.
Ever since the vile truth clawed its way into my consciousness - that the sadistic rapist monster was not my father - my emotions have been a storm, wild and untamed.
Please don't mistake me.
The revelation brought a twisted sort of joy, knowing that the beast shared no blood with me, yet a deep sorrow echoed in my bones. Now, I understood the root of his venomous hatred.
And Trayvon... the worry for him was a relentless tide, threatening to pull me under.
My mind was a battlefield, each thought a soldier in a war I didn't want to fight.
I was itching for a break, a little breather from all this drama. Trayvon and I thought, why not hang out with our friends?
Well, it was my brother who cooked up the idea, and I was the one who had to make it happen.
We just wanted to chill with our friends, who have become such a big part of our lives...our family.
Two days later, I flashed my most persuasive puppy dog eyes at my mate, pleading for permission to host a get-together in our apartment.
In reality, I didn't need to use any antics to get what I wanted from my mate because he'd never been able to say no.
I am incredibly blessed to have the most loving, handsome, and fantastic mate in the world.
Words can't even express my luck; it's the same with my brother and Javier.
Mutual love and respect are the foundation of the relationship between Marcos and me; our chosen family stands at the core of this bond.
Elder Ruth's voice echoed in our private link, her words filled with warmth and anticipation: 'Luna Aiyden, we're here.' Trayvon, unable to contain his excitement, dashed to the door, his voice filled with pure glee.
"I got it," while Alyssa and I gave the room a final once-over, ensuring everything was alright.
Like my brother, I was buzzing with anticipation. We were both eagerly awaiting this moment - a chance to unwind and revel in each other's company, free from worries, if only for a night.
The air was thick with excitement; it was high time we did this. The apartment was a flurry of activity, with Alyssa and I giving the room a final once-over to ensure everything was perfect.
