Suddenly, it sounded like a herd of elephants was charging my way. It was Xander and Giovanni, looking like they'd just seen a ghost. "Luna Aiyden, we're so sorry!" Xander blurted out, with Giovanni echoing him.
Their faces were as red as ripe tomatoes, and their words were tripping over each other.
Their blush was so intense I thought they might burst into flames any second.
I waved away their apologies, knowing from what I read that pregnancy could make a drama queen out of even the toughest werewolf.
"Take it easy, guys. I know you didn't mean anything by it. And I like it when you're yourselves around me." They both grinned like kids who'd been told Christmas would go daily.
Emily was next in line after she practically launched Jadyn into orbit.
Jadyn squawked, "Seriously, what the fuck, Emily? That's just rude!"
Emily just shrugged and said." Back off, Jadyn. It's my turn to shine." She wrapped me in a bear hug and kissed my cheek quickly, whispering, "Hang tight, Luna Aiyden, the cavalry's coming."
At that moment, there was a knock at the door, "On it!" Trayvon's voice boomed, and he dashed with the speed of a greyhound out of the gate, drawing chuckles from the room
My brother stood, his attire a blend of earthy brown shorts and a white shirt adorned with a subtle yellow stripe.
His Cole Hann shoes were a perfect mix of tan and ivory, reminiscent of a well-crafted latte. A smile danced on my lips at his dramatic flair.
Turning to my friends, I gestured towards the inviting comfort of the living room. "Make yourselves at home," I signaled to where Elder Ruth and Alyssa were.
With that, I followed in the footsteps of my enthusiastic brother.
As I neared the door, Stephanie entered, cradling a stunning cake. Its top layer was a vibrant medley of fresh berries, strawberries cut in halves, whole blueberries, and blackberries, forming a lively crown. Tiny white flowers and fresh green mint leaves were sprinkled among the berries, adding a touch of elegance.
More blueberries were embedded in the frosting along the sides, encircling the top layer.
In contrast, the bottom layer was garnished with halved strawberries and blueberries at its base.
The cake, presented on a white plate against a rustic wooden backdrop, was a sight.
Behind Stephanie were Neal, Gabriel, and Henry, Gabriel's father. The older Omega had agreed to join us that night, not that he needed much persuasion.
Henry cherished every moment spent with his older Omega pup. Despite his ongoing struggle with anxiety and the fear of losing Gabriel, he was getting better with each passing day, thanks to the help he was receiving.
