Chapter 7: Enter The Kyubi And The Sharingan

The next day, the two boys once again gathered at the training ground. It's their fourth day today, with only three days remaining to complete their given task.

'We have no one to teach us today. I guess we have to make it work ourselves' Naruto, who is low in spirits after yesterday's failure, states.

'Yeah, let's work on the clones', Sasuke suggests.

Naruto shakes his head in denial. 'You can already do them; you should focus on the next exercise rather than practicing the clones.'

'Nah, I've still got to master them. Let's work on the clones.' Sasuke, being considerate of Naruto, argues.

Although he would never admit it, he wanted to remain side by side with his brother, working on the same jutsu.

'Alright, if that's what you want', Naruto smirks so lightly that only people close to him would notice the difference on his face.

Sasuke obviously noticed.

'I'm not saying I want to; I just think it'll be better.' Sasuke quickly says, wanting to erase the smug look on Naruto's face.

'Yeah, yeah, whatever you s-'

'Let's just get on with practicing; you still have a long way to go on the clone jutsu', Sasuke interrupts
Naruto with the same smirk the blonde had earlier.

This shut Naruto up, and they went on with training.

As the day passed, Sasuke mastered the clone jutsu, being able to make several. Naruto still couldn't make it work, no matter how hard he tried.

Noticing the defeated look on Naruto's face, Sasuke reassures him, 'Don't worry, you'll get it.'

'I'm not worrying; it's just... let's just leave mine for now. I'll practice it with the help of Itachi Nii San on the last day. It is consuming too much time', Naruto says, seemingly having noticed Sasuke's consideration already.

'We could've started water-walking today if not for my troubles' Naruto adds, clearly disappointed in himself.

'I thought you were smarter than that', Sasuke says, earning a surprised look from Naruto.

'A thought just popped into my head just now. You have Kyubi's chakra. Of course, it is going to interrupt your normal chakra flow. You might have too much chakra', Sasuke deadpans, leaving Naruto even more surprised.

'You might actually be right. Why didn't I think of it before?' Naruto face palms.

'Probably because you were in a mental-fatigue. Stop stressing so much. We will find a way,' Sasuke smiles at his brother, which he gladly returns.

'Let's go home for now; it's late. We'll ask Itachi Nii-san on the last day, just as you said. Relax for now.'

'Thanks Sasuke'

'Whatever'

The two brothers walk home with smiles on their faces.

Naruto's POV

It's the fifth day today; we're supposed to learn water-walking from Kakashi Nii-san today. Supposed. There's no way to know for sure if Kakashi Nii-san will show up today. Obito Nii-san is the one who is famous for always being late; I guess Kakashi Nii-san caught on to his former teammate's habit.

After two long hours, he finally shows up.

'Finally! I thought you were going to bail on us!' Sasuke says, clearly dissatisfied.
