Chapter 28: War Begins

'Any ideas on how we will approach the enemy?' Gaara asks, lines creasing his forehead.

In a few hours, the appointed shinobi will make their move, indicating the start of the war.

Currently, all the squad leaders have gathered for a last meeting to brief the war.

'I say we get let the enemy get lured; that will make our strategy secure', Killer B says with his usual tone.

'How though, hmm?', Deidara asks, scrunching his eyebrows.

'Any plans, Naruto Uzumaki?', Kisame asks, all having relied on Naruto for war planning.

Naruto thinks for a moment, then replies, 'I agree with Killer B. We should lure the enemy. I say we scatter ourselves according to our battalions on the warground. This will cause the enemies to divide naturally as well'.

'What if they only target one of the battalions, then what?', Gaara asks, still unsure of the plan.

'They won't. We will not leave them with a choice',

Naruto's POV

Standing in the actual battle field caused the war to finally sink in.

'Took you long enough',
'You know what I mean',

'Are you ready?', besides me, Kakashi Nii-san asks me.

'No', I reply, rather honestly.

'That's good. I don't want you to ever be ready for war', on my other side, Itachi Nii-san says.

'Let's get this over with', Jiraiya-sama says. I notice him unconsciously holding Tsunade-sama's hand.

'Make it out alive, everyone, especially you, Naruto; you still have a long life to live ahead', she says. I nod in response.

'Come on! Let's show them the power of youth!', Might Guy says, his fist rising in the air.

We charge into battle.

'Why are there only five? Weren't they supposed to be 10?', Tsunade asks, looking at the enemies coming towards us.

'I'm guessing they divided themselves into even smaller groups', Naruto replies.

'He's right. I just got intel that each battalion is currently facing 5 reanimations', Jiraiya says.

'Well then, that makes it easy for us', Kakashi says, a sigh of relief following.

'It seems we were right. Ororchimaru can't handle controlling many at one time', Naruto says.

'Who's taking on who?', Mighty Guy asks, raising his hands.

'We will figure it out when we see who they are', Itachi replies.

Coming towards them were five reanimations.

They were of the Third Raikage, the demon king brothers: Kinkaku and Ginkaku, Shisui Uchiha, and lastly Dan Kato.

Naruto's POV

I have heard of all these people before. One common feature between them is that they are all extremely strong.

'Stay calm; you will be able to do it.'

'I hope so',

'Shisui', came the voice of Itachi Nii-san; 'Dan', came the voice of Tsunade-sama at the same time.

Sending people close to us—that's very cruel of Orochimaru.

'Stay steady! Remember, these are all reanimations. We have to fight them with a straight head', Jiraiya-sama warns.

'I will take on the raikage', I say, acting as quickly as I could.

'I will take on Shisui', Itachi Nii-san says.

I know he and Itachi Nii-san were close. I have heard that Shisui was killed months before Sasuke and I were born. It was the work of Danzo.

'I will take on one of the king demon brothers along with Guy', Kakashi Nii-san says.

Kakashi Nii-san and Guy sensei will both work together to take on the king demon brothers. I guess that will work out. Two against two.

'Tsunade and I will go against Dan', Jiraiya-sama says, his voice tense.

I have heard that Dan was the lover of Tsunade-same before he died on a mission.

Well, it seems like I am the only one working solo.

'Don't worry, Naruto, I will come to assist you after I seal Dan', Jiraiya-sama says.

'That is reassuring, though I think you will be able to defeat the Raikage before that',

'Let's wait and see',

'Who of this sorry bunch is going to take me on?!', the Raikage shouts.

He is a very tall, dark-skinned man with a terrific body.

'That would be me', I say, landing in front of him.

The first thing I do is activate Kurama's chakra, quickly making a rasenshuriken.

Not planning to give the Raikage time to react, I instantly throw the jutsu towards him.

He dodges it immediately, 'Ha!'

But that was my plan.

The rasenshuriken swerves itself, now aiming for the Raikage's back.

He dodges it again.

'Are all Raikages that fast?', I mumble.

'They are', he says, confidence lacing his voice.

'Well, I plan to be faster', I say, making another rasenshuriken.

This time, I manage to strike him before he has the chance to turn around, causing him to land far away.

A huge gust of air waves past my face as a result of the rasenshuriken.

'Is he out?'
