Chapter 4 (pt 1) : Brotherhood

Naruto's POV

Breakfast was done, and everyone was gathered in the main hall for some chit-chat.

'Breakfast was amazing, Mikoto, like always' Jiraiya thanked my mama for her cooking.

'Learned from the best!' She refers to my mother (Kushina). Mama (Mikoto) has always praised my mother for her cooking skills. I am really grateful that she uses them as something to remember my mother by.

'Naruto' I turn my head to see Sasuke calling for me. I get up from where I was sitting and head over to him.

'Any news about Nii-sans?' He asks with eyes full of hope.

'I heard Mama and Papa talking about them this morning. They were saying they haven't sent any updates yet, so we can only hope for the best.'

'They're after Danzo, right?' I nodded in reply. He's one of two people who were behind my parent's deaths after the Kyubi attack, which is now sealed in me.

Flashback

'Should we tell him?' Fugaku looks concerned as he glimpses at 3-year-old Naruto who is looking at him with eyes full of curiosity.

'We should. He has already reached the brink of truth; it's better if we tell him ourselves rather than him finding out about it himself' Mikoto looks reluctant about what to do as she gazes at Naruto.

'Ugh, we should've never given him access to the history archives so soon. I guess we were too proud of him wanting to read about everything so soon.' Fugaku speaks with regret.

'Well, he would've found out sooner or later. It's better if we tell-' Suddenly, Mikoto gets interrupted.

'I am sorry, but tell me what?' 3-year-old Naruto questions.

Fugaku looks over at Mikoto, and she nods in assurance.

'Naruto, you know about your parents, right? Two heroes who died saving the village from the Kyubi.'

Naruto nods, and Fugaku goes on.

'Well, on that night, your parents successfully saved the village, but they couldn't defeat the Kyubi.'

'So where is the said Kyubi now?' Naruto picks up quickly and asks Fugaku to go further.

'They sealed it in you.' A long silence streched over the room.

'That's awesome. Can I be friends it?'

And by that, Fugaku's and Mikoto's jaws dropped.

Back to Naruto's POV

'I hope they defeat him!' Sasuke looks full of spirit.

'Not at the risk of their lives, I hope' I mumble quietly, disabling Sasuke from hearing.

'What are you two talking ab-' Jiraiya sama begins to say when I feel a presence nearby.

'Wait. Jiji's here' Just as I say it, he enters.

'Naruto. I told you to stop calling Hokage-sama that' Mama scolds me as I give her a sorry look.

'That's fine, Mikoto. Jiraiya's probably the one who taught him that.' Jiji brushes it off.

Greetings are exchanged, and I rush over to Jiji to give him a hug, which he gladly returns. He's the closest thing I have to a grandfather.

'I see you've got a sensory type, Fugaku' Jiji smiles at me.

'Definitely. We weren't sure at first, thinking they were just simple guesses. But this happens more than often for us to call it just a coincidence.'

'His sensory goes back to when he was a baby; he always started cooing whenever someone was about to appear. Mama adds, making Jiji smile even brighter.

Jiji then looks over to Sasuke and says 'What about you kiddo? Awakened your sharingan yet?'

'Not yet' he humphs, at which we all chuckle.

Jiji then looks around the room, meeting the eyes of Mama, Papa, and Jiraiya. The air grows thick with unspoken worry. 'I've got news'

Jiji told us that he's got a letter from Obito Nii-san. They've completed their mission but are severely injured. They're in need of backup to get back to the village.

'I've sent some of my anbu to collect them. They'll be here soon.'

Everyone collectively releases a deep breath.

'Mama, can we go see them?' Sasuke asks. Mama declined,saying it's not suitable for us as we are too young.

In the end, the two boys managed to convince their parents by using puppy eyes, which they deemed their most powerful move.

The few moments waiting for news felt like ages when an Anbu appeared at the Uchiha compound next to the Hokage.
'They've reached.' That was all he needed to say for the family to rush over to the hospital.

'Where are they?' Fugaku asks while panting after the hurried trip to the hospital.

'Who are you looking fo-'
'Top floor, Room 6' the poor nurse gets interrupted by Naruto, who has already managed to sense them.

As they reach their destination, they're met with two boys lying on the hospital beds, with bandages covering many of their body parts.

'Oh god. That's Itachi and Kakashi' Mikoto realizes this as she takes in the sight in front of her.

Sasuke, whose mind is already filled with gruesome thoughts, manages to ask 'W-where's Obito Nii-san?'
