From now on, bold and italic lettering will indicate Naruto talking to Kurama in his mind, and vice versa.
___________________________________'You're seriously going to go meet the Kyubi?!' Sasuke, who still can't believe what Naruto told him, questions.
'For the hundredth time. Yes, Sasuke, I will', Naruto replies, tired from Sasuke's continuous q and a.
'You're not scared, Naruto?' Itachi, sitting at the table nearby with Kakashi and Obito, asks curiously.
'No, I'm not. I don't consider us strangers, as it's been inside me for the past five years. Rather, I'm kind of excited', Naruto says, looking over to his elder brothers, who all have worried looks on their faces.
He then looks over to his mama, standing near the counter, who looks even more worried.
'Stop worrying everyone. I'll be fineee', Naruto, although the youngest one, assures everyone as best he can.
'You should hate it, you know? It did kill your parents', Obito bluntly states, earning an elbow nudge from Kakashi, who is sitting at his side.
Unlike Naruto, Obito has resentment for the tailed beast; it did kill his two favorite people, after all.
'Obito.' Kakashi, Itachi, and Mikoto warn him at the same time.
Obito, realizing his bad choice of words, quickly apologizes: 'I'm sorry, Naruto; I didn't mean it like that'.
Any normal kid would've started crying at the mention of death. Especially if it is its parents.
But Naruto just pouted. He did not hide his emotion, showing he was clearly upset.
'It's alright, Obito Nii-san. I do understand where you're coming from. But... we can't really blame it yet, can we? We don't know if he was the one who killed... or if he was getting controlled. It might never have been his intention to do so. So I'll never resent it until I'm sure', Naruto reasons.
'I've seen other kids play in the playground. Papa and Mama never allowed me or Sasuke, and I know why. Many people despise me, simply knowing I'm the jinchuriki. Although they don't dare say anything, I've seen the stares of the villagers. Seeing this, I've decided to never resent someone until I know the truth', he adds, a small smile on his face, happy with what he was able to convey.
Naruto's words were met with silence. Everyone was surprised by his mature response. Obito, without saying a word, got up from his place and embraced Naruto in a tight hug.
Naruto gladly returned it.
'You're right, Naruto,' Kakashi said, breaking the silence. 'We shouldn't judge the Kyubi without knowing the truth', Itachi adds, agreeing with Kakashi.
'I'm proud of you, Naruto,' Mikoto said, her voice filled with emotion. 'You're a good boy.'
Naruto smiled, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. He knew he was doing the right thing. He was going to meet the Kyubi—not to fight it, but to understand it.
'You should go get ready; it'll be easier if you leave a good first impression', Sasuke says, earning chuckles throughout the room.
'Yeah, I should go' Naruto says, standing up to leave.
He walked to his room, leaving his family behind. He was excited, but also nervous. He didn't know what to expect when he met the Kyubi. But he was determined to face his fears and learn the truth.
