"YOU SURE I CANT COME WITH YOU?"cassie spoke, leaning in the doorframe of tashis grabbed her duffel bag. tashis room, once bright and filled with trophies and posters now stood bare. tashi was moving away as she had gotten some really good offer from a prestigious college upstate, as opposed to going to stanford with cassie. "no cass, you could've left ages ago, but, i do appreciate you being here." the girl smiled, grabbing in cassie for a half arm hug.
"plus, you have a number to give out," tashi winked, cassie groaned in response. "im scared." she joked, "you'll be fine." tashi reassured, "hypothetically, who would you want to win?" tashi smirked, nudging cassie in the arm as they left her room, "welll" cassie dragged on, frolicking down the stairs.
"art, definitely art" tashi assumed, "shut up." cassie groaned, "phone me when you get there?" cassie smiled, leaving the duncan residence as her father stood at their car, filled with boxes.
"im sure cass. i love you" she smiled, hugging the girl.

cassie had arrived at the highly anticipated match. art versus patrick. she had a seat right at the front so she could watch how much of an affect she had on the boys, it was pretty fun. once she had made her way to her seat she smiled at the two, funnily enough she didn't receive one back from either of the boys, the pair just glared daggers at eachother.
the game had started. the two boys forcefully hit the ball each time, scrambling to hit it back to their opponent.
patrick had been showing off the whole game, whilst art looked infuriated for the most of it, Patrick scrambled to hit the ball and managed to hit it between his legs, "30,40", patrick boastfully smirked at cassie and bowed, to this she playfully rolled her eyes and blew him a small kiss.
cassie waited outside on a small bench for patrick and art, she didn't want to give either of them her number. she liked them both, sure. but she knew what it would stir up if she did give patrick her number, at the end of the day she was a woman of her word. to cassies surprise art came out first, an irritable expression on his face, "art?" she sat up properly, "yeah, what." he spat quickly, eyes fixated on the ground, as he lazily looked up to see who was speaking to him, his demeanour quickly changed, "oh shit, cassie. sorry." he whined, "sorry- what is it?" he stopped himself, he was about to go on a huge apologetic rant, but he made the bold decision to decide not too.
"you uh, played really well today. it's a shame you didn't win." she gave the boy a thin lipped smile, he plopped down next to her on the bench, head in his hands dramatically as she rolled her eyes at him and let out a small laugh.
she rubbed his back lightly, "are you all moved in yet?" she queried, trying to make conversation, art sat up, brows furrowed, "what?" "college, are you all moved into your dorm?" she repeated, "ohh. yeah. yeah." he smiled. the two sat in a comfortable silence for a minute before patrick came out, smiling as he walked with his chest stuck out and his phone in his hand, "cassie, would you do the honours?" he smirked at art, shoving his phone in cassies face,
"modest." art grumbled, picking up his duffel bag and leaving the two, placing his hands on his face as he walked away, feeling defeated. he should've won. he should've put more effort into winning, why didn't he?
cassie input her number into patrick's phone, "and done." she smiled, "good job today." she sighed, somewhat wishing he hadn't done well today. "well i got a very nice phone number out of it, so" patrick smirked, "well lucky you then huh?" she laughed.
