"even when i couldn't have you, i've always yearned for you."
𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐑 priorities straight,
her future planned out.
until it all changed.
until she changed it.

"PAM IS NOT SELFISH!" cassie exclaimed, her and art sat on a bench in the tennis court, the now warmer may air surrounding them. they should be training, but they were having much more fun over a heated debate on the office.
"yes she is! jim is right there, great guy, yet she still stays with roy?" art argued, "well, pam was with roy since high school, and maybe she's afraid of change," cassie debated, "afraid of change my ass" art spat, cassie laughed quietly, twisting her earring in her ear.
"are you going to sara's party?" cassie asked, "sara?" art questioned, "red hair, always wears big earrings" she described, "ohh, no." art spoke, "what? why?" cassie groaned, tilting her head to the side "i don't do parties" he admitted, "wow you're so cool." she rolled her eyes, assuming he was trying to play off he was some responsible person, "no i'm not meaning it like that, i just don't wanna go."
"but i'll be all alone," cassie begged, "please, i'll give you my lunch credits." she clasped her hands together. art glared at the girl, a look of utter defeat on his face as he swung his head down, sighing. "fine." he grumbled, cassies eyes lit up and smiled, "okay great, good, good. it's two doors down from me at 10" art rolled his eyes at her, which earned him a smack across the back of the head.

cassie sat in her room, she laced up her old beaten up adidas shoes, the very same tashi was ridiculing about a year ago. she pulled on her stanford hoodie and adjusted her shorts.
cassie left her room, locking it behind her as she approached sara's dorm room, the door was wide open and the music could be heard from inside: nelly furtado?
cassie walked in to be greeted by sara, her room was bigger than cassies as she shared it with 2 other girls, at one of the girls' desk - assumingly sara's, - sat drinks for the party, all sorts.
"jesus, did you raid a liquor store?" cassie widened her eyes, sara laughed, "have you never seen alcohol before?" sara joked, cassie furrowed at sara, deciding to dismiss that comment.

the 'party' was going well, half of them were either tipsy, or drunk, making out or being stupid. while two people sat and observed.
cassie and art were in the kitchen, art stood beside cassie leaning against the counter while she sat ontop of it.
"patrick's doing well at college" cassie spoke, "mhm?" art barely answered, his eyes glued to the floor. cassie let out a dry laugh, "okay." she said, taking a sip from her red plastic cup.
art furrowed his brows, "what?" he asked, cassie scrunched her face and shook her head, "why are you acting up?" she questioned, "i'm not acting-" "bullshit art."
