CASSIE, ART AND TASHI sat in the stanford college cafeteria. tashi was currently on tour and happened to be staying at a hotel not too far from the college.
the three sat at the stools by the window, art and cassies usual lunch spot. "so you're enjoying it?" art asked tashi, head resting on his hand as she spoke to her.
tashi nodded smiling at the boy. cassie sat beside tashi, who sat inbetween the two. the brunette just sat there folding a napkin, she had been for the past 20 minutes. the whole conversation consisted of art asking tashi about her tour and fan girling over her.
with tashi not being here, cassie definitely forgot how much art and patrick obsessed over her, she hadn't spoke to patrick in forever and still remeber how much he'd talk about her, if cassie brought up a tournament she wanted to enter, patrick suddenly recalled how tashi did one better.
"cassie?" tashi spoke, cassie hummed in response, she had assumingly zoned out as the two were staring at her. art laughed quietly, "we were talking about kid names, what are yours?" art asked the girl, leaning his head forward so tashi wasn't blocking her.
"well," cassie smiled, "first, i wanna live in italy," spinning in her chair so she was facing the two, "if it's a boy, archie, and if it's a girl," cassie smiled proudly, "dahlia" the girl spoke proudly,
art raised his brows and nodded, thinking the name over in his head for some reason, tashi screwed her face up slightly, "yeah, i can't say i agree on that one" the girl laughed,
"yeah you haven't agreed with me since we were twelve tashi." cassie rolled her eyes jokingly, tashi and cassies main discussion since they were kids had been their futures, weddings, husbands, everything.
tashi was always more conventional than cassie, she wanted a big wedding, she would take her husbands last name, everything like that, cassie was different, cassie wanted a small wedding, only her family and a handful of her friends, only the people she knew cared about her.
cassie also wanted to walk down the isle to 'lover, you should've come over', tashi would always slap her on the arm and tell her that it was her wedding, not a funeral. "what about you two?" cassie asked, motioning her hand to them as she spoke.
"i've always liked the name lily" art spoke, tracing the wood lines on the table, "and for a boy?" cassie asked, tilting her head to the side so she could look at him properly.
art shrugged, "never thought of it much." cassie nodded, motioning for tashi to speak, "i think i'll be too busy for kids." the girl stiffled out a laugh.
"well that's depressing" cassie spoke, widening her eyes at the girl. arts face seemed to drop at tashis words, his eyes dropping to the table.
tashi sighed, patting her knees, "while this is lovely," she spoke, grabbing cassies wrist and checking her watch, "i have some training to do." tashi smiled, giving cassie a side hug, then art.
tashi got up and walked off, arts eyes burning into the back of her head, "i'll walk with you to the dorms?" cassie asked art, her feet resting on tashis chair now.
"i uh," art spoke, still staring at tashi. "i better go train too," art sputtered, practically falling off his chair that he scrambled to get out of.
cassie furrowed her brows, watching art run up to tashi, shoving his hands in his pockets as he walked alongside her, tashi tucking her hair behind her ear when he finally caught up to her.
cassie scoffed to herself, grabbing her jacket from her chair as she stood up, making her way back to her dorm, by herself.

cassie was laid on her bed, hugging a beige pillow with pink flowers. she was into the 3rd season of Gilmore girls, for the second time. her college gift from hallie, her brothers girlfriend was a full box set of the show.
one of their first full conversations was about rory's best boyfriend, hallie strongly argued that it was dean, that rory was a horrible girlfriend and that dean just tried his hardest.
cassie strongly disagreed, her answer was jess. she had always said that they were a prime example of love at first sight, yes, jess was a dick when he tried it with her at lanes band party, now, cassie might be a bit biased as she has a fat crush on jess, but atleast he knew she didn't do anything wrong, it was all him.
the only things that girls agreed on was their shared dislike toward rory, and that the two were like lorelai and sookie, hallie being sookie and cassie being lorelai.
cassie was deep into the show, until her cellphone pinged on her bedside table, she groaned, lazily picking it up and reading it.
Art Donaldson: wanna watch a movie when i'm back? 8?
cassie smiled to herself before replying back, "see you at 8"
seeing as it was only 6pm just now, cassie decided to be productive with those two hours she had and get through atleast 4 more episodes of gilmore girls.

cassie gave her watch a quick glance, seeing it was 8:10pm, the girl quickly got up, pulling her red stanford hoodie over her head that sat on the edge of her bed, slightly ruffling up her braid. she got to her door, sliding her old adidas shoes on and making the short walk to arts dorm.
the girl got to the boys dorm, giggling quietly to herself as she was ready to burst the door open and yell loudly, this was a common habit of hers, and every time he yelped like a little girl.
cassie opened the door, but instead of yelling, her face dropped, she scrunched up her eyebrows. "what the fuck?" the girl spat.
cassie had just walked in on tashi and art, for her sake, they were clothed, tashi was just sat on top of art who laid on the bed, his blonde hair ruffled whilst they both had red, swollen lips.
tashi quickly scrambled off art, who cursed under his breath, "cassie-" art begun, but he was cut off by cassie shutting the door behind her and walking down the hall. she wasn't going back to her dorm, she thought she'd save art all the knocking.
"cassie!" art yelled from his dorm, running to catch up with cassie.
"cassie," art begun, lightly holding cassies arm, she was quick to pull her arm away from him, "cassie," art spoke louder this time, the two were speed walking.
"cass, please-" art begged, cassie came to a stop, facing art, "what the fuck was that, art? what, i just sit in the corner, sulking, while you two go at it?" cassie spoke, glaring at art.
"why are you mad?" the boy asked in confusion, cassie shrugged at this, "i'm not mad-" art cut her off, "it's not like we're dating cassie," art spoke, cassies face dropped.
art watched her face drop, "well, it's true." he spoke softly, realising he could've worded himself better. cassie nodded, twisting the ring on her middle finger.
she didn't get what they were, yes, it was true, they weren't dating. but over the past few months, cassie found herself waking up with her shirt on arts floor, or his on hers a few times.
"i'm not mad art. i'm just mad that yet again, i'm second to tashi." she spat, leaving art and walking back down to her dorm.
