ART SAT ON CASSIES BED, watching her as she stood in her bathroom, one hand gripping the sink as she peered look in the mirror, applying lip balm over her lips.
"this is so stupid." the boy huffed, looking at his outfit.
cassie rolled her eyes, placing the lid on her balm and walking out of the bathroom, cautious as to not hit her angel wings off of anything.
"what's wrong romeo?" cassie smiled, leaning in the doorway. art scrunched his face up at the girl, adjusting the false armoured shoulder pads that sat on his shoulders.
"just be thankful we didn't go as the 1968 version." the girl spoke, clipping her cross necklace behind her neck. the two were going as leonardo dicaprio and claire dane's from the 1996 romeo and juliet.
art had plastic armoured shoulder pads on, a grey shirt with also plastic chain mail over top, a little bit of gel in his hair, a fake sword and a fake silver masquerade mask which sat strictly on the top of his head.
cassie had a white dress on, her dark hair clipped back, half up, half down. delicate angel wings and a long cross necklace on her chest.
art nodded at the girls statement, flopping back against her bed, gazing up at the ceiling. "why are we even going?" the boy asked.
"well, you're already up here for my birthday, and some girl from my high school invited dan, he invited me." the girl told him.
"are we not too old to be dressing up?" art was throwing a fit by this point, pointing his fake sword at the air.
cassie laughed to herself at him, sitting down beside him, "23 is not too old." cassie argued, lying down on her pink duvet bed, looking up at the ceiling, her hands clasped over her stomach.
art turned his head to the side to face cassie, brushing a rouge strand of hair out of her face. "you do make a pretty good juliet." art spoke, his head rested on his hand.
"well, thank you very much" the girl smiled, art tilted his head slightly, "what does he say again? never saw beauty until this night?" art asked, he thought he'd impress her by quoting the movie (which cassie forced him to watch several times)
cassie smiled, turning on her side to face art, "Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight. For I never saw true beauty till this night." cassie spoke, proudly smiling as she did so.
art rolled his eyes at her, laughing to himself, "so you can just quote anything off the top of your head?" cassie snapped her fingers, eyes wide, assumingly remembering another quote, "where art thou romeo," cassie snorted quietly, "get it? art, you. and romeo, you're dressed as romeo?"
art gave the girl a deadpanned look, while cassie was snorting, struggling to keep her composure. "real funny, got anymore quotes idiot?"
"under loves heavy burden, do i sink." cassie smiled, leaning in toward art, pecking a kiss to his lips.
art smiled at the girl, once again, admiring her features, more so now that her hair was clipped up, he had always seen it either down, straight. or up in a ponytail.
art let out a huff of air, his lips blowing raspberries. "i am glad i didn't have to wear tights." he admits, looking down at his false chain mail.
cassie smiled, "you look pretty good as a knight." cassie admitted, taking in his outfit, which, she picked.
"oh?" art laughed out, smirking at the girl, "shut up." she blushed, pushing him by his shoulder. arts smirk never left, he climbed ontop of the girl, cassie smiled up at him as she cupped the side of his face, rubbing her thumb over his cheek as he leant down and placed his lips on hers lovingly.
cassie wanted to stay in this moment forever, a moment she had been yearning for, for 5 years.
➛ meaning that juliet has an endless amount of love for romeo, 'infinite'. and that no matter how much love and affection she gives out to him, she always gets it back.
