In waters calm where lilies bloom,
A swan glides softly, banishing gloom.
Her feathers pure, a heart that's kind,
In graceful arcs, peace she finds.
In shadows near, a serpent lies,
With piercing gaze and haughty eyes.
He moves with pride, a silent sneer,
His world of darkness, stark and clear.
The swan and snake, in contrast deep,
One wakes with dawn, the other sleeps.
Yet something stirs within her chest,
An unbidden pull she can't suppress.
His charm, a whisper, sharp and cold,
A secret song, an ancient mold.
Though he's sharp and he's cruel, cloaked in night,
She's drawn to the shadow, caught in its sight.
The swans' concern, her family's plea,
"Stay far from him, where danger be."
Yet something in his gaze, so sly,
Holds her close, though she can't say why.
For the swan knows well the serpent's face,
Yet yearns for the forbidden space.
In dance of dark and light entwined,
She seeks the truth her heart must find.
Polar opposites, forever bound,
In waters deep, where secrets drown.
Desire stirs where reason fades,
In moonlit trysts, her heart persuades.
