"Hurry up, dear! We're going to have to leave without you if you don't!"

"Ok, Mum. Just give me a couple more minutes!" I yelled back, using my wand to stuff the rest of my belongings into the trunk in front of me. "Come on, Ollie." I hurried the now-awake barn owl into his perch in his basic metal cage.

"Tara, we're leaving!"

For Merlin's sake, can they give me a second!?

Finally slipping on my black leather shoes, I shooed myself out the door, closing it violently behind me.

"Mum! Why can't we just use Floo Powder like we did last year?!" Miles complained.

"Because Angelo didn't leave us any, and there's only enough left for one person anyway, so unless you want to leave your sister behind, we must take the Ford Anglia."

Mum is the most Muggle wizard out there.

"I actually wouldn't mind that," he scoffed as I slapped the back of his neck.

"Fuck off, Miles!"

Rolling his eyes, he asked, "Where is Dad anyway?"

My mother, fed up with the questions, replied, "He's out working at Gringotts. Now enough and get into the car."

"Bagsy!" Miles yelled, running into the front passenger seat. Pushing myself into the back with Ollie and Miles' cat, Tiger, I got comfortable and took out my book for the expected long ride.

About 25 minutes later, we arrived at the front of King's Cross Station. Miles, Mum, and I paced through the mandatory platforms to reach the ninth one. Upon arrival, Mum allowed us to go as she needed to get to her new job interview. First me, then my brother, charged into the large pillar separating the two platforms until we arrived at the Hogwarts Express station. Pushing my luggage trunks along, I saw Miles already running off to find his friends, so with nothing else to do, I did the same.

Parents waved their first-years off, all sorts of wizards and animals filled the area, and the big red train awaited in front of me. Just as I was looking around, the train horn went off, warning the fellow wizards it was about to leave, so I boarded with my luggage and started scanning the compartments.

After checking about twelve compartments, I landed on Blaise's eyes, which widened as he waved me in. Feeling the train move, I decided to sit down in the compartment.

"Hey, do any of you guys know where Theo or Sylvia are? I can't find them anywhere!" I scanned the familiar faces inside. My eyes met cold, lifeless ones before Pansy diverted Draco's attention away. They both shrugged, as did Miles, before Blaise spoke up.

"Yeah, actually. I saw them both along with Crabbe and Goyle towards the back of the train, near the bathrooms."

"Ok, yeah. Thanks, Blaise!"

"Of course, Tara." He waved me off as I left, hurrying towards the back of the train. I stumbled around the empty aisles.

Thank Merlin most of the blinds are closed. This is bloody embarrassing.

Slowly, trying to keep my balance, I maneuvered my way towards the back. Passing some newspapers lying on the ground, I turned around to pick them up. Standing up straight again, a chill rolled down my spine as the atmosphere suddenly grew chillier.

The Daily Prophet

Escape From Azkaban!

The front title loudly stated, in contrast to the rest of the paper. A raggedy, unshaven man stood holding a sign that was portrayed on the cover page.
