Unforeseen Bonds || Draco Malfoy

SYLVIA'S POV:

"I don't know what happened? One minute she dismissed me when I brought him up, like she didn't even want to talk about it, and then the next, she's all claiming that she's in love with him!?" I explained worriedly to Malfoy.

"Oh shit." His face went white as a ghost, paler than I've ever seen it before.

"What? What is it?"

"Have you ever heard of the potion," Fidgeting with his hands, before looking up, he continued. "Cupid Crystals..."

"No, what is it?" I ponder, trying to remember any lesson Snape taught us on this matter.

"It's a powerful love potion. Not as strong as some of the others like Amortentia, as it only lasts 24 hours, but still strong nonetheless."

"How do you know?" I question the blonde, obviously suspicious.

"I saw Ryder slip something into her drink. Didn't know what it was, so I tracked him down to find out, but he wouldn't admit it. Also, I heard a rumour about those Weaselbee twins, selling some. Testing for some store or something."

"And you didn't do anything to, I don't know," I glared at the guilty Slytherin in front of me. "Maybe spill her drink or something?"

"Spill her drink!?" He is now looking at me like I have two heads. "No, I didn't spill her burning hot chocolate! Besides, she wouldn't listen to me anyway if I tried telling her that Ryder spiked it." He whispers yelled at me, eager to not wake up the snoozing raven haired girl beside me.

"You're right. She really doesn't like you." I glared at the Malfoy "Okay, what should we do then? Wait until it wears off?"

"No. I don't want her to go back to her parents thinking she's in love with that boy," He says sternly.

"What is it to you, huh?" I questioned suspiciously.

"You really want her to convince her parents, whom you know, that she's 'in love' with a boy like him?" He raised an eyebrow at me, with a clear annoyed look.

"I just don't understand why he would do that, seems so out of character for someone as sweet as him...?" With this Malfoy snorted, clearly humoured. "What should we do anyway?"

"Well, after I heard about this potion, I did some research so that I would have an antidote, in case your sister decided to give me some."

"What! Pansy wouldn't do that?!"

"She would." He stated dryly.

"Whatever, do you still have this antidote?" I asked eagerly, as the train was to arrive in less than two hours.

"No. But I still have some of the ingredients. As long as you have a cauldron-"

"I do." I interrupted the already annoyed boy.

"Okay, then maybe do something useful and heat it up." Rolling my eyes, I swiftly exit the compartment with Draco, before bringing my trunk down and taking out the cauldron. Then reentering, I saw Nitara stirring around in her seat, still asleep.

"Muffliato." I mumble under my breath, as Draco walks in with a bag of ingredients. "I put a spell on her so we can talk and she won't hear."

"Good. Hurry up and heat the caldron, this potion takes an hour. Just enough time to give it to her, and clean up before we arrive back in England."

Draco helping me with Sylvia's problem. Definitely something I never saw coming.

"Incendio" My wand creates a small spark before a miniature flame, no larger than the size of my pinky, ignites. Placing it under the boiler, Malfoy in front of me adds four bundles of liquorice root, turning the solution Orange.

"Let me stir, while you add the castor oil." He instructs me. As the orange quickly morphs into a deep, grape colour, I add Gurdyroot, as the purple consistency thickens, before taking the colour of bright red. Casting the stirring spell, Draco continues on, adding several Gurdyroot extracts and more liquorice root bundles.

Finally, the brew ends in a fluorescent pink colour.

Ending the heating spell, I swiftly pour the concoction into a small vile.

"Okay, you go put the stuff away while I wake up sleeping beauty over here." The blonde orders, causing me to retort back.

"What! No way, I'm her best friend, let me do it!?"

"Sylvia, I know we don't get along that much on most topics..." He pauses looking my best friend up and down. "But I can say we both agree that Hyde over there hates my guts. And if she realises that 'I'm the one that saved her', this Christmas would be a little bit more tolerable."

Admitting he had a good point was something I would never do. But agreeing for her sake is much different.

"Fine but make it quick."

NITARA'S POV:

"Hey, hey wake up."

My eyelids start to slowly lift up as, —My favourite–- familiar, musky cologne fills my nostrils. Still blurry, my vision makes out a figure in front of me, one that causes security, and excitement to flow through my body, without even knowing who it was.

Except I did. No one made me feel like he would, like true love does. "Ryder?"

A low chuckle escapes from him. "No darling, someone else." Annoyed, I rub my eyes, attempting to sit up. "Here, take this."

Obliging, a bitter liquid tickles my tongue as it makes its way down my throat.

As the blurriness clears, Draco Malfoy is sat next to me, admiring.

Hatred burns through my body as it tenses up. But only before being quickly replaced. Reaching out, I attempt to take hold of something stable as I become very dazed and confused. His strong arms wrap around my torso stabilising my body, as the same dizziness from earlier erupts through it.

"Feeling better?"

"What the bloody fuck, just happened?" I ask, staring at the blonde in front of me.

"Don't worry, Sylvia will explain it all to you. I'm just glad you're no longer... well, like you were." He says kissing my forehead. Leaning more into him, he quickly breaks off the affection, sitting across me like nothing happened.

Sylvia then enters, looking concerned but once seeing me, relief floods through her facial expression.

"How'd it go?" She questions Draco.

"Fine. I don't want to stay here any longer with the two of you. I'm going to go find Blaise. Don't come find me."

Rolling her eyes as he left, Sylvia turned to me with an annoyed look on her face. "Such an arsehole, Malfoy is."

"Yeah... Such an arsehole." I reply grinning from ear to ear.

[A/N] Hey guys! Sorry for the shorter chapter. I'm going to be on vacation for this next week so I will have a couple chapters that are scheduled to be posted. Happy 4th of July to those who are celebrating!! What are you guys doing for the holiday?
