Asmodeus

Chapter 12

"Coffee" Daeva's voice rings through my head as I wake up on the sofa with a blanket tossed lightly over me. I'm not sure how long I had been asleep but it was peaceful, no dreams. No Asmodeus. "Why did you sleep in here?" she asks as I make my way to the kitchen "oh I urm must have fallen asleep" I say taking a cup of coffee from her "where is Silas?" I ask as I lift the steaming coffee to my lips and take a sip "he's with Lucian, he said to be ready for when he gets back" she smiles. I place my coffee on the counter and rush off to the bathroom to freshen up, having a quick shower and throwing my hair up in a messy bun, I run back to the bedroom and slide myself into my jeans and cropped vest, then I throw my feet into my boots and slip on my jacket. Ready-ish, I wish I had brought a decent supply of clothes, my makeup and my good hairbrush that actually brushes through my thick hair. I will have to do. "We are leaving!" Silas shouts as I rush back into the living area "I'm coming I'm coming" I say as I rush out the door. "Oh hi" I say to Jasper who is waiting outside looking really dissatisfied "he's coming with us" Silas says as we begin to head back down the mountain "where too?" Daeva asks trying to keep up "Spihagen" Silas replies "that's a real place?" I question in disbelief, we had heard stories about the kingdom of spirit but we were never told that it actually exists "you guys need to find a new school" he sighs as we continue walking. "Why are we going there?" Jasper asks looking at Silas who is marching ahead "I'm hoping they can help" he says growing irritated "with what?" Jasper continues "enough with the questions" Silas snaps and we continue our journey to the car in silence.
I'm on the floor I'm crying in pain and Asmodeus is there, he's picking me up telling me everything is going to be okay as he kisses my forehead. "I don't know what I would do without you" he says as he lowers his lips to mine, kissing me delicately, I don't pull back, I let him kiss me and I kiss him back as I wrap my hands around his neck pulling him close, his lips are soft and sweet and I can feel the warmth of his body. Something doesn't feel right, this isn't right. I force my eyes open to realise it was just another dream. I had fallen asleep. Again. "Look out" Asmodeus whispers "did you hear that?" I look over at Silas as he drives "hear what?" he asks "OH SHIT" he yells as he slams on the breaks, a car had come out of nowhere, blocking the road and bringing us to a dramatic stop as we all fly forward, crashing against our seat belts. A man in a black suit steps out "Caspian?" I say confused, Caspian is the head teachers pet back at school, Mrs Daffin, the head would make him do anything, from fetching coffee to making people disappear,he's the man. He reminds me of a troll, I'm not sure if they really exist but if they did, he would be the leader. He is abnormally large with a pea sized head and pointy ears. He has a large scar across his whole face and he is extremely terrifying. "You need to drive!" Daeva says in a panic "if he gets to this car, he will flip it and drag us back to hell!" she panics "there's four of us and one of him, how bad can he be?" Jasper asks as he steps out from the car "no!" I scream after him but he doesn't listen "Silas do something!" Daeva demands whilst shaking his seat "I'm thinking" he says frustrated. A large bang shakes us from our panic as Jasper is thrown thew the windscreen and Daeva begins to scream. "We can't fight him and we can't outrun him, not all four of us anyway" I say frantically "nows a good time to get those powers" Daeva points out and the car starts to shake. Oh no. "What is going on? " she screams "he's picked the car up" Silas says calmly "any ideas?" he looks to me,yes "I have one but you won't like it" I respond. I close my eyes and try to focus "Asmodeus" I scream "Asmodeus please" I scream again opening my eyes. We are flying through the air and Daeva is screaming.
My head is pounding and my vision blurry, I am out of the car and lay on the floor next to it with Daeva and Silas, Jasper is lay in the distance unconscious. I sit up with my head spinning, where did Caspian go? I hear Silas groaning and I look over to him as he stands. I look over to Daeva and call her name, I am bruised and bloody with blood pulsating from my head. I don't want to get to close just incase. "Daeva!" I yell and she begins to come round, I turn my face away from her hoping that because the wind is blowing away from us it will carry the smell of fresh blood with it. "We need to move!" Silas says as he looks around "I'm fine thanks for asking" Jasper snaps as he stands brushing the glass from himself. "If I remember correctly Fornila is around here somewhere" Silas says looking out at the fields "yeah it's just over by that tree" Jasper points "isn't that the forbidden kingdom of elves?" I question "ah so your school do teach you something" Silas laughs "an old story I heard" I wince as I stand up, almost falling over as my head still pounds. "Here, put this on for Daeva's sake" Silas says as he removes his zip up hoodie. I lean against the car for balance and remove my leather jacket struggling into his hoodie and pulling the hood over my head. My whole body hurts, I do not heal as quick as vampires and my pain tolerance isn't as high as werewolves. I feel everything.
We begin walking across a freshly cut field "don't you think it's a little convenient that we ended up here, close to Foenila?" Daeva grumbles to Jasper as I hobble behind them "there is many hidden kingdoms, it doesn't matter where you are, one is always close by" Silas shouts back as he marches ahead. "Why do they leave Lunaris? It's the biggest kingdom, the safest" Daeva asks Silas. "Because the council is corrupt" Silas scoffs "my mother is on that council!" I snap as I continue to hobble, wincing with every step I take. He looks back at me and watches for a second as I struggle "you do realise the head of your school would have had to ask the council permission to send that beast after us right?" he says irritated as we finally make it to the tree. Now what? I watch Silas as he walks through it. Through the tree. Like an actual tree. Daeva follows and Jasper looks to me
"after you" he gestures.
