After thanking Amara and Arwin for their hospitality we make our way back across the field and to the road "the village is only a thirty minute walk" Daeva says as she jumps ahead, thirty minutes, really? I hate walking, with a passion. "I could always carry you." Asmodeus appears, causing me to jump from my skin. "No, thank you." I quickly respond. "What are you doing here?" Silas asks, irritated by his presence."This guy just appeared?" Jasper points out and only now do I realise that Jasper has not met Asmodeus. "I thought I'd keep my girl company," he glotes, wrapping his arm around my shoulder. "Not your girl," I respond, moving his arm from me. "Hey Silas, how does it feel knowing I have access Beatrix, inside and out" he's trying to wind Silas up and it's working, I watch his fists as they clench "Asmodeus please leave" I almost beg "well since you asked so nicely I'll leave, but I'll see you tonight" he winks as he disappears. "And now he's disappeared," Jasper speaks "yeah" I sigh. "He kind of does that." There's silence for a minute until Jasper speaks again "well what else can he do?" Jasper asks "he can hear her thoughts, access her mind, control her dreams, he can do anything he wants" Silas says frustrated as he marches ahead, his words almost punish me as if it's all my fault. Well, it is, but... You know what I mean.
When Daeva said this place was creepy, she meant it. The whole village consisted of around fifty buildings, houses and shops included. It was so outdated with no concrete paths but a single dirt road. I feel like I have stepped back in time. "We need to find a car," Silas states as he looks down the empty dirt road "and food," I state as I follow him.
"There's a cafe there, Daeva take this, feed yourselves, I'll be back in a bit" Silas says as he hands money to Daeva and takes off, leaving us to stroll towards the cafe that looks like it's been closed down for years. It hadn't closed down it was just extremely old, neglected and a little dirty. "Silas is pissed!" Daeva sings as she brings us coffee. I look through the menu as I nod "yeah" I sigh. "Are you guys eating today?" An old croaky man asks "yes please" I respond and he pulls out a little pad with a pen. "Can I please have the chicken burger and chips?" I ask politely as I watch him write it down. "Can I get the beef burger and chips, please?" Jasper says. "Oh make that two," Daeva speaks and the man nods before he shuffles away. "Why do you think Silas is being so...?" Jasper asks as we wait for our food "because he hates how much control Asmodeus has over Bee" Daeva speaks sipping from her coffee "Asmodeus has no control over me" I argue "oh I had no idea that you and Silas were a thing" Jasper sounds surprised "we're not" I respond "yet" Daeva mumbles "you know I can hear you right?" I shoot her a look and she laughs.
The old man brings our food out and we thank him as the door opens and Silas enters, sitting in the empty seat opposite me "so I brought a car but it needs a little work" he says "why didn't you just buy a car that works?" Daeva questions "it's the only car in the village, I can fix it but I may take a while" he watches me as I tuck into my burger, oh I've missed actual food. "I've booked us some rooms at the hotel down the road," he speaks and I almost choke. "You want us to stay here?" I ask in disbelief. This place is from a horror film. We would be lucky to survive the night."She's right. The people here will probably murder us in our sleep." Daeva agrees. "I will try and get it fixed as soon as possible," he says, standing up and leaving us again. He really is mad about something.
"Oh that gives us some time" Daeva speaks pulling out another book "I read this earlier and it made me think" she points 'the magic of spirit' "you can probably do spirit magic and it's really freaking cool, you can control people's minds and stuff" she slams her hand into the book excited "Daeva why would I want to do that?" I question confused, I have Asmodeus,I know the torture. "I don't think you understand" she insists "if this is true you can do anything, force people to do things like give you their money or" I cut her off "no thank you" I laugh as I stand up and head to the counter to collect another coffee, I noticed that Silas didn't get one so I'm going to take him some coffee and figure out what's wrong with him. With his coffee in hand, I head out the door and walk down the dirt road as he pushes the car in front of an old hotel and lifts the hood to look underneath. "I thought you might like some coffee," I say as I place it on top of the rusty red four door pick up truck. He doesn't acknowledge me. "Have I done something wrong?" I ask worried and he sighs."It's not you. Well, it is you, but it's not something you've done, " he says as he works away, trying to fix the truck. "What does that mean?" I question as I watch him "I can't watch somebody else I care for die" he stays as he rests himself against the truck "but we will have the stone and" he cuts me off "and what if it doesn't work! " he snaps and I pause for a moment "if it doesn't work then it's only me that dies, I told you I'm not sacrificing Jasper, this is my decision and it's final" I state and he slams his fist into the truck causing a huge dent "I'm not going to sit back and watch you kill yourself!" he growls."I'm not asking you too, " is all I say as I walk away into the creepy hotel.
Creepy is an understatement. The walls are decorated with vintage floral wallpaper and a deep red carpet lays on the floor, and that's definitely to cover up all the murders that have happened here. "Room 101" a young lady says as she hands me the keys and I begin to climb the stairs. My room was the first one and I didn't know what I was expecting when I opened the door but it wasn't this. Shelves of dolls, okay, this place is beyond haunted. This place probably invented the word haunted. In the corner of the room was a wooden basin and in the centre was a large four poster bed with pink floral textiles. The walls were green stripes and the carpet was still deep red. In front of the window at the bottom of the bed sat two royal blue floral chairs and a small round tea table. Nothing matches and those dolls are definitely watching me. No bathroom or toilet either, I pop my head out the door and look down the hall to see the door with a bathroom sign. Great, that's going to add to my nightmares when I need to pee in the middle of the night.
