Thanks to @Leafy228 for the first part of this chapter (they suggested I write Luna's reaction) and shoutout to @tosmart002 for the party scene which will be upcoming. Enjoy!

Sylvia's POV:
I stood by the freshly dug grave of Natalia, the earthy smell filling my senses. The sky was dark, a light drizzle coming from high up there. It was as if the heavens itself were weeping for her.
I looked to my right, finding Xavier standing there with a blank look of his face. He had bruises all over his body, even some broken bones; but the majority of pain could be seen in his red eyes.
I stepped closer to him, wrapping my arm around his own for support. A single tear rolled down his anguish filled eyes, the amber no more shining in them.
It was heartbreaking to see him like this. My usually strong, determined, unbreakable husband now stood here, shattered like a delicate glass piece.
My gaze moved to my left, my eyes softening as they landed on my sweet little best friend.
There she stood, my beautiful Luna, clutching a bouquet of white lilies as her shoulder shook with her silent sobs.
It had taken her ages to even realize that she had wanted her partner to be a girl, and even longer to find someone as perfect as Natalia for her.
Her heart was clearly broken by this tragic event. Her bubbly, vibrant spirit was nowhere to be seen. She too seemed like a shadow of herself.
The priest's words felt distant, my eyes remaining stuck to the faces of my loved ones. This pain.....can I not take the burden from them?
Max whispered something in Luna's ear, pulling her away from her father's hold and gently pecking her forehead.
The priest stepped back once his talk was over, and Luna stepped forward. "My love, you left me too soon" she closed her eyes, her tears mixing with the rain water.
Kneeling down in front of Nat's grave, she placed the white lilies over there and said something I couldn't hear.
Xavier then stepped forward, kneeling down near Luna too. "I'm sorry Luna. She gave her life for me" he said, clutching Luna's hand tightly.
"She wouldn't want you to blame yourself Xavier. She loved you too much for that" Luna said, slowly falling into Xavier's arms.
Xavier held her tightly, as if she was his own. Luna cried in Xavier's chest, and he let her; both of them being each other's light in this surrounding darkness.
"Let's go home darling" mother Irene said, gently caressing Luna's hair. Xavier pulled her away, slowly pecking her forehead.
"I see her in you Luna. You kept her the happiest I had seen her in years. I will protect you with my life. Remember estrellita, you have not two, but three brothers from now on."
Luna smiled at Xavier's words, making him smile in turn too. She hugged him tightly again, leaving a brotherly kiss in her hair.
"Take care Xavier" mother Irene said, offering him a sympathetic smile as she walked back to her car with Luna and the others.
"You want us to stay?" mumma asked, coming to stand beside me. "I don't think you can do anything mumma" I sighed dejectedly.
"Hey, Sylvie" she cupped my face, making me look at her, "You're my strong girl darling. You can't be weak right now. He needs you" she looked at Xavier.
I too looked at him, sighing again. "But him in this state....it makes me weak mumma" I said.
"Then change your perception beautiful" papa Silas walked over to, pecking my cheek. "Huh?" I looked at him confused.
