"How was it last night?"
"Fine..."
"Breakfast is served. I've cooked enough for five days, Kate. To eat the same thing you're eating now." She smiled.
Caitlyn glanced down at a single pancake, a measly serving of scrambled eggs, and gray slop that she assumed must be some kind of oatmeal. Naturally, she went for the pancake first, shoving most of it in her mouth after dipping it in some syrup.
"That's pretty damn good-" She chuckled. "You got more of those?"
"Again, I cooked enough for 5 days. And I don't waste."
"Gimme another- shit, dude." She pushed the sloppy junk aside.
"Of course."
And Caitlyn just continued eating, until she'd eaten all 5 of the pancakes that were supposedly for the week. No input from her new mother, just an uninterrupted feast.
...
"Yoooo, hey KG! What's good, girl?"
"Moved in with a new parent... more like babysitters at this point."
"Oh funky! I've got a good 10 minutes before I have to leave- doctor's appointment. You wanna chat?"
"I don't have much of an impression yet, but like- why?? Why not just toss me if the government is gonna toss me, I don't get it."
"The goal is to be given back to your parents, right?"
"They have no interest in me, but I can't legally be left on the roadside. From my understanding."
"I wouldn't leave you on the roadside either, maybe this one will be a win for you."
"She's like- a single mom, except she never had kids from what I can tell?? So how would she even know how to be a mother??"
"You'd be surprised. My mom has me and my sister, and still doesn't really know how to parent at all."
"It's not that my previous foster parents don't know how to parent, they just didn't like me."
"Well again, maybe this will be a win!"
"Maybe."
"Give it time! The house might grow on you, and if it doesn't, at least you have a space."
"Mmph."
"Allllrighty, I'm gonna get going. Again, doctor's."
"Appointment for what?"
"Yearly, and I'm probably gonna need bloodwork or something stupid."
"Ugh, needles-"
"Realll. Welp, I will- see you tomorrow? Yeah probably tomorrow."
"See ya later."
...
"DUDUDUUD-"
Natalie bashed her fist into the radio when it went static for a moment, moving on like nothing had happened. "DUDUDUDU-"
"Two birds, on a wi-" And in almost completely blowing the turn, she started paying attention.
"Damn you, Regina- almost making me not go to the doctor and actually enjoy myself." She tapped her volume button to disable her radio. And of course that spiraled into her just tapping her fingernails on the console of the truck.
"See, to hit a Hypixel admin is a difficult task. You need to left click. Not right click, not scroll. Left click. See? There's a diagram!"
