Natalie slowly blinked to life like a robot, pushing herself up off the desktop with shaky forearms. "Mmph...? What happened..."
"Nothing important." Guinevere muttered.
"Woah, nice."
"She's so IRRITATING."
"You need a milkshake."
"Like, UGH, I can't stand her."
"Yeah, can't stand her... I've gotta eat-" She noted what her sister was saying, but her stomach noted otherwise.
"Are you even listening to me??"
"Course... Sport. I'm always listening. I'm just..." She huffed.
"You are braindead right now, dang."
"Braindead is a good word for it..."
"Just- uh- I'll get you some water..."
"Thanks..."
As Guinevere wandered down the stairwell, the emptiness felt strange and foreign to her as the aura surrounded her. Natalie being so out of it that she couldn't carry a conversation had put her in an uncomfortable state. Completely devoid of any life beside herself.
"Mrrow?"
"Yeah... that was her first basketball award. She'd made the most three point shots in the district."
"Mrow?"
"Communion, I was in first grade. That was... miserable, to say the least. Communion, then 8 years later she made Confirmation. Another miserable experience."
"Mrrow-"
"Not fun, not fun. What's your story..."
"Mrrow."
"Childhood trauma, wahoo."
The air felt still as she made her way through the house.
...
Next Day
"Yesterday was your fun "move in" day, but today, we start working."
"Fucking great..."
"But, starting with breakfast!"
But when Caitlyn saw what she'd gotten, she only saw a portion of scrambled eggs on the plate, alongside a bowl of slop double the size of yesterday's. "What..."
"Well, as I said, I don't waste." She shrugged.
"What- that's bullshit! I don't want to eat this!"
"It was your choice. Everything is your choice here."
"This is fucked up..."
Penelope only offered another smile. "Maybe next week, you'll rethink."
"I'm not rethinking shit! This is no better-" She paused.
"No kids running around, nobody bothering you. This is no better?"
"At least they fucking fed me there."
"Then go back, feel free."
Your phone: this bitch won't feed me
Natalie: hrm? o_-
Your phone: my fucking foster mother won't feed me
Natalie: uhhhh im not sure what i can do lol
Natalie: theres no food in the house?
Your phone: nothing that I want??"
Natalie: not what i asked
Your phone: I mean, there's this sloppy crap, and eggs, that's about it
