Over the next couple of weeks, Mizumi and Shinso become very close. After every training session, Mizumi goes home to her friends and gushes over how much she and her training partner are improving.
"You always speak so highly of Shinso. It sounds like you really like him," Kirishima teases Mizumi.
Her face turns bright pink and she desperately waves her hands around, trying to defend herself. "What? No way! We're just training partners, I swear!"
Ashido giggles, ready to continue the teasing. "Aww, you're blushing so much! Are you sure you don't like him?"
Mizumi squeals and hides her face behind her hair. "It's not like that!"
"Sure, whatever you say." Sero grins smugly.
Kaminari smiles a little, but stays quiet. It hurt when Mizumi rejected him after he asked her out a few months ago, but he understood why she had to. He wanted to try again after she officially joined the class, but she was always too busy trying to catch up with schoolwork and training. Now that Mizumi has her eyes on Shinso, he has lost the chance. Kaminari likes Shinso as a friend, but can't help feeling jealous.
Stupid Shinso, he thinks. That lucky dude had better not make Mizumi cry ever again. If Shinso hurts Mizumi, Kaminari will make him pay for it.
"Don't let your feelings get in the way of your training," Bakugo chimes in. "You can't afford to get distracted. Kick his ass and prove you're the better hero."
Mizumi smiles and nods, thankful for her friends despite the teasing.  They go their separate ways for the night and everything seems normal, for now.

"Deku, go get your notebook and meet me outside! There's something I wanna show you!" Mizumi squeals as she comes home from training one day.
Midoriya jumps up excitedly. "What is it? You have a new move?" The happy look on her face tells him yes. He grabs his notebook and follows her outside, with a few of their classmates going with him.
"I was falling off a building during training, and this happened," Mizumi starts. She summons her water, and a pair of wings made of water appears on her back. "I was thinking about Hawks, and how proud I want him to be." The small crowd has become bigger, and they watch in awe as she takes flight.
Deku quickly scribbles his notes, then looks up at her. "What are you gonna call this new move?"
"Flying Fish!" Mizumi giggles, showing off her tail as she flies around her classmates. "Pretty clever, huh?" Her tail quickly goes away, and she lands gracefully in front of them. They applaud her and she gives a little bow, smiling proudly.

Another couple of weeks go by, and this time, Mizumi comes running to Todoroki when she comes home. She hands him a chunk of ice, grinning excitedly.
"Shoto, I made this today," she says. "It turns out, I have ice powers like you, too!"
Midoriya's eyes widen and he starts talking out loud, muttering to himself. "I guess that would make sense. Ice is just frozen water, so it would make sense for her to have those powers too. But is this just a new move, or is it a whole Quirk?"
Mizumi and Todoroki look over at Midoriya as he tunes out the rest of the world, too lost in his thoughts to notice them staring.
"Um, Deku? Are you okay?" Mizumi gently pats her friend's head, trying to bring him back to reality.
"Oh! Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that!" Midoriya grabs his notebook again, taking notes.
Mizumi uses her water to create the shape of a flower, then freezes it so it keeps the shape. She hands the ice flower to Uraraka, grinning proudly. "A flower for the lovely lady," she giggles.
"Wow, Siren. You've really been leveling up quickly lately. What else do you think you can do?" Asui ribbits.
Mizumi thinks for a minute. "Water has many forms, so I guess I could potentially do anything with it," she says thoughtfully. "I'll have to keep practicing to see what I'm fully capable of."
