Chapter 5
Jimin and yoongi
Jimin
The drive home felt longer than usual, even though the streets were familiar. My hands gripped the steering wheel a little tighter than necessary, and I could feel my heart beating faster the closer we got.
I hadn't been home in two days.
It wasn't a long time, but with everything that had happened, it felt like an eternity.
Would he be there?
Would he even care that I was coming back?
I sighed, shaking my head. Don't think about it, Jimin.
"Hey, Chim," Taehyung's voice broke through my thoughts. I glanced at him from the corner of my eye. He was watching me carefully, his usual playful expression replaced with concern.
"Yeah?"
"You sure you're okay with this? We can go somewhere else if you don't feel ready."
I let out a small chuckle, trying to ease the tension. "Tae, I can't avoid my own house forever."
He pursed his lips but didn't push further. Instead, he leaned back in his seat and stared out the window. "Alright, but I'm staying with you until Kook picks me up. No arguments."
I smiled softly. "Okay, Hyung."
The rest of the drive was quiet.
As I pulled up in front of the house, my stomach twisted with unease. The place looked the same, yet something about it felt different. Maybe it was me.
I took a deep breath and turned off the engine. Taehyung unbuckled his seatbelt and looked at me. "Ready?"
No.
But I nodded anyway. "Yeah."
We stepped out of the car, and with each step toward the front door, my heart pounded harder. My fingers trembled slightly as I unlocked the door and pushed it open.
The house was silent.
Empty.
For a second, I wondered if he was even here.
Then, I noticed it-the faint scent of coffee lingering in the air. A half-empty mug sat on the living room table, and a jacket was draped over the couch.
He's home.
Taehyung walked in behind me, his eyes scanning the space. "Looks like someone's here."
I swallowed hard. "Yeah."
Just as I was about to call out, I heard soft footsteps coming from upstairs. A moment later, Yoongi appeared at the top of the staircase.
Our eyes met.
For the first time in days, I saw him-really saw him.
And the look on his face?
Regret.
Guilt.
Something I never thought I'd see from him.
But I wasn't ready to believe it just yet.

Yoongi
Another morning, another battle to get out of bed. My body felt heavy, as if the weight of my thoughts had pinned me down. I groaned, forcing myself to sit up and rub my face, trying to shake off the exhaustion from another restless night.
