Chapter 13
Yoongi and Jimin
Yoongi
One Year Ago
At College:
The hell… why is he here again?
I sighed, running a frustrated hand through my hair as I spotted Jimin rushing toward me across the campus courtyard. His face lit up when he saw me, his steps quickening.
"Hyungie! You’re here! I’ve been searching for you for the past 15 minutes!" he huffed, slightly out of breath. "I told you to meet me, right?"
I clenched my jaw, already feeling irritated. I had things to do. Assignments. Plans. I couldn’t be running around, dealing with him all the time.
Rolling my eyes, I scoffed, “Oh, Jimin. I have my own work to do. I can’t just roam around with you all the time. Stop being so childish. It’s honestly annoying.”
The words left my mouth sharper than intended, but I didn’t regret them. Not one bit.
Jimin’s face fell for a brief moment before he quickly masked it with a small smile. "S-Sorry, hyung... Actually, I was looking for you because my mom and dad invited you to dinner tonight. They want you to come."
I exhaled harshly, shaking my head. “No. I won’t. I have things to do. I need to go to the company and help my father.”
My voice came out even colder this time. Harsh. Unforgiving. I didn’t care.
Jimin hesitated, shifting nervously. "But hyung… your appa and eomma are coming too. They said they have something important to tell us."
I froze.
My parents? They were going too?
I sighed, rubbing my temples. If my mom and dad were involved, I knew I wouldn’t be able to refuse. They would just drag me there anyway.
“Fine,” I muttered, annoyed. “I’ll go.”
Jimin’s face brightened slightly, but before he could say anything else, I turned away.
“Now leave,” I added, my tone dismissive.
I caught a glimpse of his expression before he left—his lips pressed into a tight line, his shoulders slumping ever so slightly.
But I ignored the guilt gnawing at me.
It didn’t matter.
Or at least, that’s what I told myself.
---
I arrived home at exactly 6:00 PM, just like my mom had asked. She had called earlier, telling me to come home quickly, and now here I was.
As soon as I knocked, the maid opened the door, stepping aside to let me in. I walked into the living room and found my parents sitting on the couch, watching TV. They looked completely relaxed, as if they hadn’t just rushed me home.
