Chapter 10
Yoongi
The elder one entered the hospital cabin where the younger one was lying in bed, looking lost and confused. The room was quiet except for the soft beeping of the machines and the faint sound of footsteps outside the door. As I walked in, my heart tightened at the sight of Jimin—my husband, my love—lying there with no recognition of me.
Jimin blinked at me, an air of irritation already building on his face.
"Who are you, ha? Go away," Jimin snapped, turning his head to the side in an attempt to ignore me.
I stood there for a moment, feeling the weight of the situation crash into me. My heart ached as I heard the coldness in Jimin's voice. It wasn't him. Not the Jimin I knew. This Jimin was a stranger to me, and it hurt more than I could ever explain. I was going to my family members to wait outside for me and they all move out of the room.
"Chimy!!!" I called out softly, my voice trembling as I took a step forward.
Jimin, who had been glaring at the ceiling, turned his eyes back to me.
"Who is Chimy?" Jimin asked, his tone dripping with confusion.
"You," I replied, my voice tender, almost pleading.
Jimin's brows furrowed, and he shook his head. "No, I am not. You cat…"
I was taken aback for a moment, confused by the sudden nickname. "Cat? I’m not a cat," I responded, my voice soft, trying to understand the shift in his behavior.
"Yes, you are," Jimin insisted, pointing at me with a look of defiance.
I smiled softly despite the tears threatening to escape. "No, I am not… I have my name. Yoongi."
Jimin stared at me, as if trying to make sense of what I was saying.
"Then I also have my name… My name is..." Jimin trailed off, looking down at his hands as if searching for the answer within himself. His brows knit together as if something was holding him back from speaking further.
My heart skipped a beat when I heard Jimin finally speak his name—though the uncertainty in his voice made it feel like the words had been foreign to him.
"Jimin…" I whispered softly, almost as if confirming something. My eyes locked with his, desperately hoping for some kind of recognition.
Jimin frowned, clearly puzzled. "Huh?"
"Your name is Jimin," I repeated gently, my voice filled with so much emotion. "I know because… because we are husband and husband. You just don’t remember me because of the accident. It happened in front of our office."
Jimin's expression remained unreadable, and I could see the confusion in his eyes. It was heartbreaking, but I had to keep pushing through it.
"Huh?" Jimin echoed, his voice softer now, though the disbelief was still evident in his eyes.
"Jimin, listen to me." I stepped closer, lowering my voice as if trying to make sure he understood. "Don’t think too much. Just remember that I am your husband, and you are my husband, okay?"
Jimin, however, shook his head, clearly rejecting the idea. "I don’t believe you…" His voice trembled as he spoke, but he seemed firm in his refusal.
"You have to, Chimy," I whispered with urgency, pleading with him to understand, to believe.
Jimin narrowed his eyes at me. "Do you have any proof?" he asked, his voice tinged with skepticism.
