I found I liked this as a part of Chapter 1 but didn't add it until it had already gone up.

Nine years later, a cloaked figure walked into Konoha, their steps light and quiet. But to any trained Shinobi, she sounded like a bear walking. The figure looked up at the large gate towering over her and sighed. 'Time to hope I can get settled before I see anyone I know.' As soon as she thought about it, she saw Kakashi Hatake walking out of the city. Thankfully, he continued on his way, and as she had only glanced at him while looking at everyone, he wasn't suspicious of her.

The young girl sighed as she entered the gates. The girl walked down the main road, hoping her nature chakra could mostly cover her chakra signature as she released her slightly suppressed chakra. Her hood covered her face, leaving the top part of it in shadow to help conceal her as she realized another problem. Looking at the shop signs, the distantly familiar characters haunted her.

'I don't know how to read Japanese, do I? No, I do not.'

Chapter 2

The girl looked at the buildings, admiring the reflection of the sun, smelling the dirt underneath her. The murmur of people talking and feet pounding on the ground beside her with occasional shouts or cries from a baby or toddler. 'When was the last time I was in a human city?' The girl absentmindedly wondered a bit sadly.

'I CAN LEARN JUTSU!' The girl had a wide smile, even though she wasn't talking to anyone. She closed her eyes, enjoying the rays of the sun on her face even more. As she wandered, she found herself at the entrance to a pleasant-looking forest. The girl walked in. Not many beings other than Shinobi could beat her in a fight.

The girl admired the scenery around her, smiling as she took in the sounds of beetles buzzing, squirrels jumping over her from branch to branch, and running water. Beside her, a river ran a strong current, going before her and swerving to the side.

Distantly, she heard a shout. Normally, it wouldn't bother her; she'd have assumed it was some kids playing, but the worry in the voice stopped her, and she felt a spike of concern. Hesitantly, the girl walked back. She didn't realize she had started running until she was sprinting and saw a flash of movement.

As she stared at the water, she saw an arm shoot out, flopping over into the current. The girl tamed her pulsing chakra, coating her feet with chakra. She ran onto the water and continued running along the river, but she quickly realized she wouldn't be able to help the kid, especially with her hesitation.

She jumped into the current, allowing her gills to take over the job of oxygen supply, letting her chakra resume pulsing so she could hurry along. Causing minor waves by viciously kicking her legs, swimming, and letting the rip current carry her, she caught up to the child.

The cloaked girl smiled as she pulled the kid closer, supporting its neck with her hand. Looking down, she saw the kid was a boy with seawing markings, and she could feel gills with her hand. She shook her head before she could process what that meant and turned slightly so they were diagonal with the current, and she was facing up, the unconscious boy down.

She let her chakra form her seawing tail, solidifying into blood and scales. Reaching her hand above her head, she thrashed her tail. A harsh wave of water rose, and she shot diagonally, spinning from the current and hitting her head in the sand, but climbing out of the water with nothing but a harsh concussion. Coughing, she noticed her hood was down. She pulled it up to cover her hair and face again, her tail dispersing.

Seconds later, the boy's father kneeled beside him. Almost frantically, he checked for a pulse, sighing in relief after a moment. The girl froze as she gazed at his face. It was Tide. The girl winced as she sat down, her hands shaking as the adrenaline left her system.
