Chapter one

Black was everywhere. Mike attempted in vain to wave it away, only his arm wouldn't leave his side. So there he stood, silence encompassing him until light exploded in his vision bringing pain with it.

"Mike," Aleise said as she shook him.

Mike startled awake covered in cold sweat. He could hear Verity jumping while almost yelling at Kai to wake up. "Ya good?" At his nod Aliese continued "Can you wake up Kai then? Thanks, come on Verity"

Verity looked back at him with violet in her eyes before following Aleise out the room.

Mike hops off his bunk bed and lands next to Kai who he uses his foot to shake awake. He did not kick him, thank you very much.

Technically.

Checking the alarm which said 7:00 in blaring red letters, '7:00 on a weekend- wait what time did the girls wake up then? Eh.' Hopping off their bunk bed Mike changed into his clothes for the day before walking downstairs to the kitchen to grab some water. "Good morning" Mike's mother, Candace greeted while helping spread the plates across the table.

"G'morning," Mike muttered, rubbing his eye while filling up his cup. He took a few sips of the cold water before heading back to his room. Mike saw a bright blue replacing the normal strands of light violet, shrugging it off to tell his mother about later. "Kai get up." Dropping a few drops of water on Kai's head who finally sat up and took a deep and annoyed breath of air, before glaring at his brother.

Mike took that as his cue to run. So he bolted out of the room, "duck." Mike ducked into a crouching position before the water that was headed toward him could hit its mark. Flying over his head the water slowed before flying back the other way straight toward him. Mike didn't need his quirk to tell him to move, only the water fell uselessly to the ground before it could even get close to him.

Mike looked up to see red eyes and floating hair, standing up straight he pointed at Kai who was like a living mirror of him just with different clothes.

"He did it." They both responded, each pointing to the other.

Shouta blinked and just glared at the two, hair falling back into place and eyes returning to their regular black.

"They both did it," The two's mother cut in from the bottom of the stairway. "Anyway, breakfast is ready."

"All right." Shouta responded with a seemingly understanding nod, before smacking Mike on the back of the head. "I have a feeling you started it."

Kai just grinned before Shouta he also got hit upside the head. "No quirks in the house." Kai bit back any smart remark he had.

This time it was Mike who grinned.

Breakfast was quiet seeing as no one had anything to talk about and it was the weekend so no school or work. Well for everyone except Shouta, who had some secret case he was working on. Only the Lord knows why he decided to become an underground hero and a teacher. Or what Midnight had been thinking when she recommended him for UA.

After breakfast and chores Mike decided to ask his mother while everyone else was doing who-knows-what.

"Ma, my mist was blue this morning." Candace smiled at Mike. "It was only blue, so it's fine. Don't worry, why don't you check how mine is." Mike used his quirk to check his mothers which only came out a dull violet.

"Dull violet." He responded softly. "Then it's fine it's not green or yellow and my quirk hasn't told me anything." Mike nodded while smiling at his mother before walking away. Even if he did smile he felt no reassurance. He was certain something was going to happen and what else could he do but do his best to keep everyone else safe. This quirk couldn't do much but inform him about danger that has passed and warn him about what hasn't happened.
