Kailani dived forward with her wings to her side, enjoying the wind hitting her face. Kailani loved flying a little bit more than she liked swimming, which was weird for a seawing but not for a skywing.
Sense Kailani and her family were in the sky kingdom. Kailani could only fly so high but I even so she bent the rules just a bit when her wings needed a stretch.
Like now.
Kailani's face hit the water, sending bubbles shooting up around her. Kailani swam to the surface, beating her wings only to be met with a dark orange dragon glaring at her angered.
Kailani chuckled nervously, "Hi, mom!"
'I'm dead,' Kailani thought, accepting her fate.
"Kailani." Auburn growled at her troublemaker daughter. "Your father and I have told you time and time again not to fly that loud! So tell me why have you flown that high."
"Would you be mad if I said I needed to stretch my wings." Kailani managed to squeeze out.
Smoke floated out of Auburn's nostrils.
She reached down and grabbed Kailani by her scales on her scruff and started dragging her back to the cave.
"Auburn, what a lovely surprise! First the dragonets of destiny and a traitor, what a lovely day for me. And is that your dragonet? Oh the arena will be full!" A jewelry adorned red dragon glided down in front of the two.
Auburn dropped Kailani behind her.
"Scarlet." Auburn growled, spreading her wings to hide Kailani a bit and to make flying easier.
"That is Queen Scarlet to you." Auburn flicked her tail in irritation, signaling Kailani to run -Kailani assumed fly but Auburn didn't have the luminescent scales her children have for aquatic-.
Kailani turned and flew higher than she'd ever before, higher than the mountain tops, making her breath mist as Kailani exhaled. Looking back once to make sure her mother was behind her.
Auburn was indeed behind her and flying the fastest Kailani had ever seen and catching up to the blue and red dragonet quickly. Kailani turned back and focused her energy on her wings.
Auburn flew a bit ahead of her dragonet before turning and diving to the side to lose the skywings in the mountains.
Scarlet remained near the clouds for a moment before turning and flying away with most of her guards, Kailani noticing a tear in her tail. Auburn grabbed Kailani's claws and dragged her forward into a shadow.
"This is why you don't fly above the trees!" Auburn hissed.
"It's not my fault! Scarlet was injured and I didn't do it so it wasn't us she was looking for!" Kailani explained very close to shutting out her emotions.
"I never said it was your fault; I was just explaining why we hide."
"Yes I know! You've been telling us it sense we've been in our eggs!"
"We can talk about this more when we get home."
"You always say that." Kailani muttered into the chilly wind, following her mother back through the shadows making her shiver slightly.
Hopping from cliff to cliff Kailani saw some Skywings fly past the two which is when the two hid in the shadows.
Soon enough Auburn and Kailani made it back to the cave they called their home. Auburn motioned for Kailani to wait for her, while she went to find her mate, Kailani huffing but listening.
