The bonfire crackled merrily, casting flickering shadows that danced across the faces of our laughing group. Ju Yan and I sat nestled on the sand by the shore, the rhythmic whoosh of the waves a soothing counterpoint to the lively chatter. Suha, a tipsy sway in her walk, approached us, her voice thick with intoxication.

"HeY....... YOU t-wo com-ing to play?" she slurred, gesturing towards the volleyball game that had erupted further up the beach.

I politely declined, and with a playful nudge, Ju Yan rose to join Suha, leaving me alone with the calming symphony of the sea. As I watched the waves crash and recede, a sense of peace settled over me.

Suddenly, a familiar presence entered my peripheral vision. I turned to see Rein appear beside me, his expression unreadable. Without a word, he sat down, his gaze fixed on the endless horizon. We sat in comfortable silence, the only sounds the murmur of the waves and the distant laughter from the game.

The urge to break the silence bubbled within me. "I wish life could be this simple," I finally said, my voice barely a whisper. I kept my eyes on the waves, unable to meet his gaze, yet I could feel his intense stare burning into me.

Picking up a forgotten glass from the sand, I swirled the amber liquid within, feeling the burn of forgotten memories.

His reply was slow and deliberate. "Once everything settles down," he said, his voice gruff, " you can have that life."

With a shaky hand, once again I lifted the glass to my lips, the sting of the alcohol a welcome distraction. But as the liquor touched my tongue, a single thought consumed me – Rein.

The words hung heavy in the air. "With you," I blurted out, finally turning to face him. His eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of something akin to hope crossing his features.

A small, nervous laugh escaped my lips. "Should I prove it?" I teased, a playful glint in my eyes.

Before I could second-guess myself, I leaned forward, my hand reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair from his face. My fingers lingered on his cheek for a moment, sending a jolt of electricity through me.

Then, in a move so swift it took my breath away, he leaned in. His touch, when it came, was a feather-light brush of his thumb across my cheek. It was a spark that ignited a firestorm within me.

My breath hitched as my gaze locked with his. The tension between us was a tangible thing, a charged wire waiting to be sparked. He closed the distance between us, his lips hovering tantalizingly close to mine. The taste of salt and sea air hung on his breath, a reminder of the vastness of the ocean mirroring the vastness of my longing.

The kiss, when it finally came, was a slow burn. It started with a hesitant brush of our lips, a question whispered on the breeze. But then, as if a wall had broken, the wall holding back years of unspoken emotions, it deepened.

His lips were warm and firm, yet gentle, sending a delicious shiver down my spine. The taste of the alcohol I'd just consumed mingled with the salty tang of his skin, creating a heady concoction that intoxicated me further. My body melted against his, every nerve ending tingling with awareness.

His hand, warm and calloused, slid down my back, pressing me closer and his other hand tangled itself in my hair, tilting my head back for a deeper kiss.

As the kiss deepened, the world around us faded away. There was only him, the salty tang of his skin on my lips, the warmth of his hand pressing me closer. The alcohol I'd consumed added a layer of recklessness to the moment, a boldness I wouldn't normally possess.

He pulled back slightly, his forehead resting against mine. His eyes, a stormy blue in the flickering firelight, searched my face. There was a raw vulnerability in his gaze that sent a fresh wave of heat through me.

"Nara," he rasped, his voice thick with emotion. His thumb brushed away a stray tear that had escaped down my cheek. "I..." he began, then stopped, seemingly lost for words.

Taking a shaky breath, I met his gaze. "Rein," I whispered, my voice barely audible. How could I express the years of longing, the confusion, the hurt, and the unwavering love that burned within me?

He closed the gap between us again, his lips finding mine in a kiss that was both desperate and tender. This time, it was different. This kiss held a promise, a declaration whispered against my lips.

"I've wanted this for so long" he murmured, the words sending a jolt through me. Tears welled up in my eyes, hot and unexpected. Years of unspoken feelings, of yearning and heartache, all came flooding to the surface.

I clung to him, burying my face in his neck...my body trembled"I love you......Kim Rein," I whispered back, my voice thick with emotion. The words felt like releasing a torrent of pent-up feelings.

In that moment, under the vast expanse of the starlit sky, with the rhythmic crash of the waves as our only soundtrack, I knew. This was where I belonged, in his arms, with the promise of a love hard-won, a love that burned brighter than the bonfire crackling merrily a short distance away.

As we made our way back to the group, still holding hands, the others quickly took notice. Suha, her cheeks flushed from the alcohol, was the first to speak up. "Well, well, look who's all cozy!" she teased, her voice a playful sing-song.

We joined the group, finding a spot near the fire. Suha and Ju Yan were still playing a game, their faces flushed with excitement and perhaps a bit too much alcohol.Ivan noticed us and raised an eyebrow, a playful smirk on her lips. "Well, look who decided to join us," he teased, his voice slurred but warm.

I smiled, feeling Rein's hand tighten around mine. "We thought we'd see what all the fuss is about," I replied, my voice light.

Ju Yan grinned, giving Rein a knowing look. "About time," he said, nudging Suha. "We were starting to think you two would never get it together."

Rein chuckled, a deep, comforting sound that made me feel at home. "Better late than never," he said, his eyes never leaving mine.

As the night wore on, the fire began to die down, and people started to drift off to sleep. Suha and Ji woon were among the last to leave, Suha mumbling something about needing more drinks, while Ji woon guided her gently towards their tent.

Rein and I remained by the dying fire, the embers casting a warm glow over us. The silence between us was comfortable, filled with unspoken words and shared emotions. I leaned against him, resting my head on his shoulder, feeling the steady rise and fall of his breathing.

"I'm glad we have this," I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Me too," he replied, his lips brushing against my hair. "We'll make it last. I promise."

The sincerity in his voice made my heart swell. I turned to face him, our eyes locking once again. "I trust you," I said softly.

He smiled, a tender, loving smile that made my worries melt away," I'm not letting you go again."

As the night wore on and the stars began to fade, we all settled down, the energy of the evening giving way to a comfortable, contented silence. Rein wrapped his arm around me, and I rested my head on his shoulder, feeling completely at peace.
