Ch. 15: Night Changes

Eve

I couldn't help it... No matter how many times I had tried telling myself otherwise and that this was the absolute worst thing to do, here I was.

Drawn to her, in every sense. Yearning so badly to feel and taste her lips that I could feel the ache of it in my bones. So captivated by her that I couldn't manage to control my stare, or my touch. And so far gone now that I was holding her hand and pressing against her and staring into her eyes and continuously glancing at her lips.

A crinkle had settled between her full and softly arched eyebrows the second I confessed to her what I had been wanting to all week. Maybe even all year... Then, almost in disbelief as I gradually let my hand cup her cheek, Ocean breathed out her response so scarcely that I hardly heard it even up close.

"What?"

"You heard me..." Tilting my head with the fairest of smirks, I swiped my thumb back and forth, glimpsing down at her lips. "And no I'm not playin' with you, I'm serious."

The last thing I wanted her to think was that I was joking right now. And while she squeezed my hand, I pulled her even closer, bringing us nose to nose now to allow our mouths to just barely graze. So much so that I felt my name spill from her lips, as well as the catch of her breath.

"Eve-"

"I wanna kiss you, Shaun..." I whispered against them, feeling warm at the teasing brush of their touch against mine. "Can I?"

Barely a moment passed before my eyes flickered to hers, just as hers did to mine, lingering and longing and speaking all without uttering a single word. Besides one, which was whispered, "yes..."

I wasted no time. And suddenly there was no air, between either of us.

Her lips were so soft it had my eyebrows kindle with a mental curse under my breath. Slowly, her head moved with mine as my lips parted hers and my hand held onto her cheek. I could feel her caution fade away with every moment as she kissed me back before bringing her hand to my neck. That action alone caused me to let go of her other hand to grab hold of her waist; spreading my fingers along her smooth skin to grasp the curve of it with tender need.

I kissed her harder, for I couldn't help it. And an electric surge traveled up my spine the second I felt Ocean's breath hitch, having my hand leave her cheek to join the other at her lower waist as her bare arms slowly wrapped around my neck. Our lips smacked upon the sync of our movements, every bit of it feeling so right that I wondered why in the hell I hadn't done this sooner.

It felt incomparable, this moment. So much so that my hands began moving along her waist to where my thumbs teased in a rub up under the hem of her shirt as I backed her up, stopping once she thudded softly against the wall.

Her chest heaved just barely against me as she just about stood on her toes, given the difference of our height. Not at all did I want it to end, but I knew that if I didn't stop now I was risking getting carried away far too soon.

Sensually gliding my hands back down to her hips- all while holding her against me still, for I craved her closeness like no other- I kissed her again, desirably, and with a linger that had my lips give hers a final gentle peck before breaking away at last.

The sweet and happy smile creeping in across my face couldn't be helped as I sheepishly kissed her forehead and cheek before burying my face down into her neck. Inhaling the invigorating scent that sometimes left my eyes rolling on the inside- all while sneaking my arms tighter around her for a hug- I brushed my lips smoothly against her neck as she embraced me back just the same.
