It's a pain in the ass, having feelings for someone who has no idea, and who you know won't ever love you back.

They're on your mind far too often, and it hurts worse each time you remember that they've probably not even given you a second thought. That they only see you as a friend, and nothing more... Meanwhile your heart damn near skips a beat everytime you think about them, let alone see them.

Since freshman year, I'd loved her. The way that I was supposed to love a boy, perhaps. Or the way that I wasn't supposed to love a friend.

Before meeting her, she was my campus crush. And then we bumped into each other and she thought I was shy and soft spoken because I could hardly get a word out in her presence. And then she introduced me to Eve, and Paris, and everyone else... And then, I knew I was at the point of no return.

She didn't like me in that way, and I'd rather deal with the loss of a crush than the loss of a friend like her. She meant far too much to me.

"Mi amorrr," I could hear the smile in her voice coming from the doorway of my dorm. "Bring your behind, I wanna try and stop for a matcha before class."

Standing from my desk with a sigh after checking the small circular mirror, I grabbed my tote bag and keys. "My oh my, how could I forget about Shaun's beloved matchas-" my arms flew up, though I grinned as she smiled wide at me, her arm extended for a side hug.

"Exactly- how dare you," she giggled while I locked the door, leaving us to be on our way. "You look prettyy- And I love this outfitt!"

Giggling as she took my hand to have me do a small twirl while we walked, a warmth tinted my cheeks. "Thanks Shaun... So do you," I then said, admirably taking in her profile from the side.

"Why thank you, now let's hope this California sun doesn't melt it all off-"

Chuckling, our arms locked as we made our way out of the building and across the small bridge towards campus. She and I had our first class together at 10am, Women's and Gender Studies. For her, it was more of an intriguing elective, but for me, I found it rather necessary for my degree though it wasn't exactly a requirement. Anyhow, I was glad to have it with her nonetheless.

"You still meeting with your orgs after?" I asked once we filed in line at the cafe.

"Yeah, I think Paris and I are having lunch afterwards, if you're free around two or so-"

"Aw no I have class right at two actually," my lips smacked in disappointment, and Ocean sighed.

"What time are you done today?"

"The two o'clock is my last class today, then I'm free all day tomorrow-"

"Ahh booo, I have calculus at 8am," she pouted and I couldn't help laughing with a grimace.
