Headaches are the bane of my existence.

Surprisingly even more so than period cramps, and especially the ones that come after a long night of drunk go-fish with your insane group of friends.

Sunglasses sat on the bridge of my nose as my hair was tied up in a high messy bun, making me look like that one jacked up bratz doll meme. With only a sports bra underneath, I wore a baggy zip up jacket with some leggings and white Nike socks with black crocs. The best I could do for makeup today was some lip gloss and concealer on the bags beneath my eyes, for my every muscle ached and my every sense was seriously impaired this morning.

This happens to my dumbass nearly every time, and yet...

Why were my legs sore as I struggled up the concrete steps of the building for my lab? I have no clue. It likely had something to do with either taking a hard fall that I didn't feel at the time, or racing Diamond since the two of us had a habit of turning into athletes when drinking.

Mint scented my words of apology the second I bumped into someone just as I arrived at my first class of the day, chewing on gum and squinting even behind my sunglasses.

And at the sight of Nathan already in his seat while scrolling on his phone, I mentally groaned.

"Don't. Even." My eyes cut in his direction as he looked up to study me with a smile while I sat down. "Good God my head is killing me," I then murmured under my breath before dropping my head in my arms on top of the high table.

To my demise, Nathan chuckled. "Rough night?" A pause followed before his tone turned playful and teasing. "Or rough night?"

"You're disgusting," I muttered while dragging myself upright, all while hiding my humored smile.

He snickered. "You look like shit."

"Gee thanks, Charming, I was trying my absolute hardest to impress you today."

"Well you're doing an awful job darling," he turned to me in full amusement as I squinted at him behind my glasses. "Just when I was about to give in too."

"You wish," I then scoffed up a laugh, looking out onto the rest of the class now. It was to start in the next five minutes or so. "Did you do your part of the project?"

"You mean the one we're presenting today?"

An instant drop hammered my stomach with the widen of my eyes as I turned to him.

"Nyx you lying..." As he chuckled, my head tilted with anxiety. "Stop, forreal? Did I seriously forget?? I'm not readyy," I put my head in my hands, beginning to stress. "Please tell me you're lying," my next words came out muffled.

"I am."

Looking at him right away, my eyebrows began to lift in relief. "Really?"

"No," he snickered, dropping my brows right then upon the return of my panic. But then he shook his head, continuing to laugh. "Nah I'm just fuckin' with you, presentation's next week."
