013; Bad Luck
SECURITY HAD BECOME TIGHTER WITH THE
news of eighty British prisoners of war escaping. John and Gale were conversing amongst themselves as Marilyn paid attention to the news brought to them. "I think you were right." Buck stated, eyes shifting to meet Bucky's. "We should have made a run for it while they were chasing those Brits.""Maybe, but I can't help thinking you were right. Better to play it safe." Bucky replied, glancing to Marilyn as she sat on alert. He could tell she was deep into thought, no doubt thinking about the men who were sentenced to death because of wanting to escape.
The two men excused themselves from the group and went to walk around the grounds, stretching their legs. "Why aren't you rushing home anymore?" Buck continued on with the conversation. "Told the lady I wanted to start a family. Have to be alive for that to happen." John sighed, a slight smile on his face as he thought about his future.
Buck looked at him with surprise, "Really? You want to be a father?" A hint of disbelief was present in his voice causing John to laugh. "Of course I do." He chuckled, both of the men sharing a laugh they needed. "Did Marilyn put the thought into your head?" Buck questioned. "No, I think I made her think about it. She seemed to be flustered at the idea." The thought of it brought a smile to his face as he remembered how her face lit up at the thought of their future together.
