Ash P.O.V
Late last night at 2 in the morning I was awoken. Falling out of my bed I screamed. Pain ripped through my heart and I felt as if I no longer had apart of me. My parents and sibling ran to my room in a panic. I lay on the ground staring into mid space. My father tried to get me out of this trance but nothing worked.
She is dead. Faith is gone. Ace mourned in the back of my head for the loss of his mate. I could already feel my strong self become weaker by the second. Without your mate you will never reach your full potential. I sat straight up emotionless. I saw my family around me while Cole and Dylan stood by the doorway. Looking to them I felt sadness ping all through out my body. When Dylan looking at my new emotion and body language he shook his head.
"No, No it can't be," Cole, said with his voice breaking. I looked down and tears trickled down my face.
Cole screamed, "No, she was my little sister," he now had tears running down his face, "we were supposed to protect her, you were supposed to protect her."
Every word he said stuck me. Soon Dylan was pulling Cole back to their room. My dad and Brian grabbed me and lay my on the bed. I did not move an inch. Nothing would be the same.
"Is she dead," Lila asked tears build in her eyes. I nodded my head still staring straight ahead. Lila cried, my mother gasped, and my father and brother stood motionless. They left me at six in the morning to get ready for training. Ace and I were still mourning, but I knew Faith would want me to fight.
Getting up I looked in the mirror. I know longer saw the Ashton who had everything: joy, muscle, perfect hair, and a smile. No, this guy was a stranger: my green eyes were bloodshot and had bags underneath, my hair was greasy, and no smile has been on my lips since Faith left.
Once I was finished with my shower and getting dressed I walked outside my room. When I walked outside I saw Cole fighting one of our best fighters, but within a second had him on the ground. Cole was angry; it was not difficult to tell was closer to Faith than his brother.
When I was down the steps I saw everyone fighting. We had improved a lot, but as Luna said with out those recruits we would be nothing. The whole day went by in a blur. Everyone I went against I defeated easily, and my emotions were helping me with fighting. Ace was slowly getting better, but I knew he would never be the same.
We were taking our last break of the day when everyone's attention was caught by one of our packs border watcher. He comes running in out of breath,
"Large group of rouges coming from the East."
I growled, "They come to start the war." Taking of through the woods I heard people following close behind. When I reached our border I shifted back and stood waiting for the rouges to come. My family and friends got there not too much longer afterwards. We all jumped at the sound of a twig snap. Taking our defensive positions we watch people in their human forms walk into the clearing. I look at the pack that has puzzled looks as well.
"Son, I do believe..." he trails off.
I look to them, "Are y'all here to fight or to join."
Soon a guy who introduces himself as Haden steps up,
"Yes, Faith sent us." I tense at the name of Faith,
"Where is she?"
"Well you see, she was helping us get out, and-" he looks down when I cut him off.
"I don't care about what she was doing, where is she," I growled at him. That set off a lot of growls through out both sides, which made my mother step up.
"Boys stop it. I'm sorry Faith was my son's mate, and we were worried sick, and believed she had died."
Haden nodded and stepped to the side. Soon the people had made a long pathway. I looked down it to see a dark hair boy carrying her down the walkway. She was lying limp in his arms. I cried at the site. When he reached me he laid her on the ground and took a couple of steps back.
I sat down brushing her blonde hair out of her face.
"Please," I whispered through my tears, "Don't leave me. I need you. I will never pick up alcohol ever again please just come back to me." I put my head to her chest listening to her chest listening for anything breathing or a heart beat just something.
"No," I screamed pulling my face to her neck through out the clearing. Right after that thunder rolled, and lightning exploded across the cloud. My brother tried to pull me off my mate but I didn't allow them. I picked her up and lead everyone to the pack house. Walking the whole way their no one spoke a word.
Losing Faith was a great advantage for our enemies and there was no way we could win the war. When we reached the living room, lots of people were in there. Those people included Cole and Dylan. They both broke down at the sight of their dead sister.
Dylan stood beside his brother. Putting his hand on Cole's shoulder he spoke, "We are not to bury her, orders of the Luna." He hastily exited the room keeping his face emotionless.
Cole hugged his sister with a death grip. He was singing something to her. I picked her up after awhile and took her to the infirmary. Where I laid her in a bed. Kissing her on the forehead I left her. It tore me to see her dead, now I can come down here and see her whenever I want the problem is she just isn't alive.
"That fucker is going down for killing Faith," Ace growled.
"Agreed," a frown permanently plastered to my face.
When I walked out I saw Dylan, Brian, and my father talking to some people while my mother comforted Cole.
I needed no comfort, you need emotions to be comforted, and to have emotions you must feel, and I no longer feel anything, everything is numb.
I learned that we had at least 290 people join. So I feel confident about fighting this guy now. I walked up to my room and began to train. When this war comes we will be ready.
