CHAPTER 31

"Damn him! Halos halughugin namin ang buong Macau tapos siya pala ang kumidnap sa'yo?!"
Galit na litanya ni kuya Derick.

"Buwisit na 'yan, parang nagbakasyon lang tayo doon ng ilaw araw." dagdag ni Fritz habang hinihilot ang sentido niya at mukhang pagod na pagod silang dalawa, kakarating lang nila at para silang sasabog na bomba.

Pag-alis ko doon sa kung kaninong bahay nila ako dinala dumeretso ako kay Grace, kaagad kong tinawagan si kuya Frederick kung nasaan ako at kung ano ang nangyari. At huli na nang mapagtanto kong iba na pala ang suot ko, ibig sabihin ang demonyong 'yon ang nagpalit ng damit ko? Hinubaran ako ng walanghiya!

I just poured out my frustration by eating. I was stress eating because of the foolish things he did to me!

"Zea, someone wants to talk to you."

I stared at him and froze at the person behind him. We locked eyes for a long time, and I was the first to look away.

"Pinadala ka ba ng halimaw mong kapatid para kausapin ako?"

Umalis na si Fritz at nakita ko pa si kuya Derick na saglit na dumungaw sa'min.

"No...he didn't know na pumunta ako rito, can we talk?"

Hindi ko pa nakakalimutan ang sakit na nararamdaman ko nang makita ko silang lumabas sa iisang silid, at akala ko talaga may relasyon sila.

Imbis na mainsulto sa sinabi ko ngumiti lang siya sa'kin. Naglakad ako palabas ng kitchen at dumeretso kami sa shed house na nasa gitna ng garden. Matagal na katahimikan ang lumukob sa'min hanggang sa narinig ko siyang tumikhim.

"Zanzea...or should I say Zara, you know what? Naiinggit ako sa'yo..."

Napakunot ang noo ko at napalingon sa kaniya, at the same time nakaramdam ako ng kaunting sakit nang banggitin niya ang tunay na pangalan ko.

I was shocked by what she said, something lodged in my chest, and I swallowed hard. He's in jail?
