Siobhan's POV

The last thing I remember is Roger holding me by the throat near the top of the stairs. Me begging him to stop, crying thinking this was it. This is how I die. Right before he threw me down the stairs. My head hit the railing halfway down and I blacked out.

I woke up on a gurney being loaded up into an ambulance. I could hear Roger telling the police that I tripped and fell down the stairs, so I knew it must have been pretty bad for Roger to call 911. Though, I'm a little surprised that he called at all. I was sure he would leave me for dead. Guess I should count myself lucky he isn't done with me yet. My head is still fuzzy when I hear Roger yelling across the driveway "Baby I will meet you at the hospital. I'm so glad you are ok".

I tense at his voice and the paramedic in front of me notices quickly signaling to his partner to get me in the ambulance. Once inside, the other paramedic told Roger where they were taking me, and we headed to the nearest hospital. While en route, the paramedic in the back with me starts asking me, "Are you safe at home?" "Do you need help?" We can help you". I put on my best poker face and simply say "I am fine. No, I do not need help". At this point, I'm slightly panicking cause I can tell this guy does not believe me. Luckily I feel the ambulance park and the doors open to reveal the other paramedic and two other people. A guy with gray hair who introduced himself as the doctor. And a nurse that looks very familiar, with the most beautiful black hair. No stop that Siobhan don't think like that. The nurse interrupts my thoughts "I'm Vivian but I think you already know that"

Vivian's POV

I hear the doctor say that there is an incoming trauma so I head outside with him. When the ambulance doors opened I saw a familiar face, one I didn't expect to see, but she didn't seem to recognize me so I introduced myself looking into those ocean-blue eyes "I'm Vivian but I think you already know that"

The paramedics inform us what happened, but I can see that there is more to the story than she just fell down the stairs just from the look in her eyes. It is utter terror. She notices I am staring at her, and looks away. As if she knows I can see into her soul, and she is trying to shield herself from me. We get into a room and the paramedics leave and the doctor is dealing with another patient for the moment so it's just us. I take this time to look over her body to make sure there are no other serious injuries other than her head. That's when I take notice of the bruising around her neck and various buries on her arms, torso, and legs. All in different stages of healing

"Siobhan, What really happened?" I asked concerned fairly certain I already knew the answer

"I fell down the stairs like the paramedics said," Siobhan said still not looking me in the eye. I move my head to the side so she is forced to look at me "Siobhan, a fall down the stairs would not cause this level of bruising and certainly not around the neck. Some of these buries are already in the healing stages." I move to hold her hand without thinking "So please tell me what happened?" I asked again, noticing that she didn't pull her hand away. I could see she was contemplating whether to trust me or not.

"The truth is..." and just as she was about to tell me the doctor came in"Mrs. Knight your husband is here would you like him to come back with you?". She immediately tensed at the mention of him. "He's not my husband, but yeah that's fine" she explained as tears started to form in her eyes, but wiped them away before her boyfriend came in. I wanted to yell at the doctor for coming, for not noticing the signs. But that isn't going to help her, and that is the goal. So I don't leave her side. Made every excuse I could to not let him be alone with her. Finally, the doctor ordered some scans. Meaning Roger, I learned the asshole's name was Roger. Meaning Roger had to stay here.

Siobhan's POV

I was about to tell Vivian what truly happened when the doctor came in telling me My husband was here. I explained that he was not my husband. It physically makes me start shaking. He shows up just as I'm about to slip up. What was I thinking? If he even thought I told someone what happened or has been happening he would surely kill me, but her eyes are so freeing when I look into them. Like I could tell her everything and it would be ok. But that feeling goes away the second Roger comes in acting like the compassionate boyfriend even though he is the person who did this to me.
