Autumn's POV

"What do you mean, our sister?" I asked. She surely couldn't be right. So many thoughts and emotions came to mind just from one sentence. Looking over to Reece, he glared as if he didn't believe a word she said. Marjorie was just shocked, her eyes wide and jaw hitting the floor.

"My parents are Clarissa and Johnathan Roberts," she said like she knew we would know those names. As soon as she finished her sentence Reece stormed out of the office. Never saying a word or looking back.

"Wait, who are they? Why did Reece just leave? Why do you have Mia's last name?" Marjorie asked, rapidly. Wanting answers that no one was giving her. Turning to her I figured I was the only one that was going to give them to her.

"Clarissa is our mother, and Johnathan is Mia's dad. You know they ran away together, and now I guess we both know why," I finished turning back to the girl in front of us.

"Why are you here?" I asked calmly, but below the surface, I didn't know how to feel. I was pissed cause our parents left to raise another child even though they had three already here that they were supposed to take care of. I was sad cause apparently we weren't enough for them to stick around for, but she was. The smallest part of me was excited at the idea of having another sibling. I couldn't figure out which emotion I should be feeling, and I guess Marjorie could tell cause I felt her hand on the small of my back.

"I didn't come here to cause problems, I just want to know my siblings. After I found some old pictures of kids I didn't know in my parents' things, I confronted them about it and they told me everything. They told me not to go looking for you, but I couldn't help myself. I wanted to know you guys, so I packed my stuff and flew here when I learned that you all lived here and worked at this nursery. I never meant to cause you harm or pain, but I can see that I did, so I will go. I am sorry," she said as she went for the door.

"Wait, leave your number, so we can contact you," Marjorie said, making us both look at her. I was happy to let her walk out the door to never see her again, but of course, Marjorie had to be the bleeding heart she was. Aj quickly wrote her number down and left saying one more soft 'I'm sorry' as she walked out.

"What the hell, why would you ask her to leave her number?" I questioned.

"Cause right now you and Reece both are dealing with a lot of emotions and if Mia had been here she would probably be crashing another car. You all need time to process the information and then decide if you want to know her or not. I'm not saying you have to let your parents back in, but she shouldn't be punished for y'all parents' choices, and you and Reece need to talk to Mia," she explained, not giving me a chance to object till she was done.

"Marjorie, I appreciate your input. You are one of my closest friends and my brother's girlfriend, but this really isn't your place," I said, irritated that she had interjected herself into this part of my life, but still able to realize she was right, which irritated me more.

"First, as your best friend I would say this is my place because if you truly didn't want to hear what she had to say you would have thrown her out way before she offered to leave, and second, I'm no longer your brother's girlfriend," she whispered the last bit. Almost so quiet that I didn't hear.

"What do you mean not his girlfriend anymore? What happened?" I worried for my friend.

"I don't want to talk about it," she said, which is unlike her cause she talks about everything.

"Marjorie, what happened?" I asked, this time putting my hand on her arm. She looked me in my eyes before her head fell. I could see tears falling from her face as she said "He slept with someone else,"
