Marjorie's POV

I sat across from Autumn, waiting for our drinks. My mind kept going to Autumn, pulling me into that hug. We have never really been the kind of friends that hug, but the safety I felt in her arms I never want to let that feeling go. Before I could get too lost in thought, Sara came over with our drinks.

"Here you are Autumn," she said with a smile as she placed her drink in front of her before turning to me, "Marjorie," she said, with annoyance in her voice and a glare on her face that Autumn definitely noticed.

"Sara," I said back, with a smile, but Autumn could tell it was fake. She could always tell. Sara walked away, leaving us alone again.

"What was that about?" she asked when she knew Sara couldn't hear us anymore.

"It's nothing, I just want to have a drink with my best friend and not let the drama get in the way of that," I responded, really not wanting to think about how my boyfriend screwed the bartender of my favorite place.

"The drama? You mean that's who he slept with, and she has enough nerve to get that kind of an attitude with you. Who does that bitch think she is?" Autumn asked, connecting the dots.

"She is the woman who thinks that she and my ex-boyfriend are in love and that I was in the way. I found out because she cornered me in the restroom here when I was with Char and told me. You want to know the worst part about all this?"

"What other than the fact that he cheated?" she asked, with a chuckle. Her laugh has always made me feel better no matter what and this time is no different.

"Well yeah, but while one of my best friends was having the worst day of her life he went off with another woman when I needed him, and then was just going to act like it never happened. Aut, he was never going to tell me. If I hadn't found out from her of all people he would have just let me go on like an idiot thinking that he was the greatest guy. I'm such a fool," I finished, downing my glass. I could feel the tears threatening to pierce through.

"You are not the fool, Marjorie, he is for losing the best woman he ever had. We can go, you don't need to look at the reminder of what he has done all night," she said, and she had a soft, almost gentle look on her face.

"No, he ruined our relationship, he doesn't get to ruin this place too," I said, waving Sara down for another drink. Just as Sara was bringing me my second drink I saw Reece come through the door. This isn't going to end well I thought as I took my wine and downed it too.

"Marjorie, please just talk to me," he said, walking up behind Autumn, making her turn around in surprise.

"Reece, just go. I'm done. We are done. There is nothing to talk about," I said, wanting him to leave me alone.

"We aren't done, we can't be. Please let me make it up to you. I know I made a mistake, but I can fix it," he pleaded.

"A mistake?" Sara said, still standing next to the table. "I was a mistake? "

"Yes, you were. I love my girlfriend and sleeping with you was the biggest mistake I could have made," he said, his eyes never leaving mine, I could see Autumn was about to come out of her chair, I didn't know who she was going after first, Reece or Sara. I have to put a stop to this before that happens.

"Reece, a mistake is forgetting to order the nappies or not turning off the lights. You slept with another woman because you were having a bad day instead of coming to me to help you. That's not a mistake, that's you ending a relationship. I should have been your safe haven, but I wasn't, so yes we are done, and Sara if he is the love of your life go for it. I'm not stopping you, but just remember he cheated on me with you he will do the same to you," I finished, and I could see Autumn giving me a smirk. Cause she knows before Reece I would have believed him and taken him back. Not this time.
