~A Week Later~

Marjorie's POV

It's been a long Week. Roger was finally behind bars, Siobhan was free and taking some time for herself with Vivian, and Autumn and Reece had been busy getting all the paperwork together to officially take over the nursery. On top of everything, Reece has been extremely distant lately.

The end of the day came, and Charlotte and I were the only ones left. As we walked out the front door, Char turned to me.

"Do you want to get some drinks before we go home?" she asked.

"Absolutely, My Love, I could use one after the week we have had," I said. We decided to just walk since the bar was just down the road. We walked in, and it was pretty packed the only seats available were at the bar. We take our seats and order our drinks from Sara.

"So, how is Mia?" I asked. Even though I and I don't get along, she is important to Char, so she is important to me.

"She's amazing. She is actually staying for good. She said it was just getting too hard to stay away for so long, so she is not going on any more trips unless I'm on the plane with her," Char said with the biggest smile I have ever seen. I have known her for 10 years, and I have never seen her so happy and so in love.

"Oh, My Love, that's amazing how are your girls feeling about you seeing someone, or have you told them?" I asked, curious.

"We did have that talk with them a few weeks ago, and they absolutely adore Mia. I love getting to see her with them. What about you? How's Reece, I know he is super busy with the nurseries," she asked, and as I went to answer, I could feel eyes on me like I was being watched. I looked around, but I didn't see anyone.

"He has been busy, but I know it's necessary. We are doing great, really. No one has ever made me feel so seen, understood, and loved," I said, but I still couldn't get the feeling that someone was watching me to go away.

"I have to use the restroom I'll be back," I said, getting up and leaving the bar. I was standing at the sink, splashing water on my face, when the door opened. I didn't think anything of it till the person said my name.

"Marjorie," they said, making me turn around.

"Oh, hey, Sara," I said, confused. Did she follow me in here?

"Look, I'm going to get straight to the point. You need to let Reece go," she said, completely serious. What the hell was she talking about?

"Sara, what is going on?" I asked.

"Reece and I have been seeing each other, and you are in the way," she said, stepping closer to me.

"Wait. What? What do you mean you have been seeing each other?" I asked, wanting to hold out hope that the man of my dreams wasn't like every other man, but I could feel my heart breaking.

"We have slept together, and I love him, and I know he loves me, but he doesn't want to hurt you, so he won't leave. So, you need to break things off with him," she said, dead serious.

"I-I- I don't believe you," I said, but deep down, I knew what she said was at least partially true. I pushed past her and went back out to the bar, where Char was waiting for me.

"Marjorie, there you are. What took so long?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go. I only had one drink, so I'm just going to walk back to the nursery and get my car," I said, grabbing my stuff.

"I'll walk with you," she said, moving to get up.

"No, it's fine. You stay, call Mia, and make it a date night. Have a good night," I said, running out the door. I finally get to my car, and as I sit down, tears start to fall. I made my way to Reece's. I needed answers, even if I was pretty sure I already knew them. I made it to his place and, using my key, walked straight in.
