HAILEY'S POV

After our practice, I immediately went back to my dorm. I am flopping onto my bed, scrolling through Tiktok to ease my mind. Distracting myself with what I just found out.

"Hailey? Are you okay? FlauJae asked me to check on you." Aalyah asked, coming into my room.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you." I replied to her.

She sat on my bed, "You don't sound okay. The whole team noticed that you're not your usual self."

I sat myself down, turning off my phone and putting it on the bed. "Do you know Lilia Suarez?" I asked her. I got a nod as a response. "I... have a crush on her." I confessed.

Aalyah smiled, "I know. In fact, we all know." She clarified.

I shot her a confused look, tilting my head. "How did you know? Did Flau'Jae tell you?"

She shook her head, "No. We all noticed. You weren't slick, Hails. It was obvious."

"Oh..." Was the only thing I could speak out. "Anyway. Lilia has a crush on someone else, apparently. And she seems so glued to the girl she likes. And the girl already rejected her!" I ranted to Aalyah.

"Are you mad at Lilia?" She asked with a soft tone in her voice.

"What? No, no. Why would I be mad at her?" I whispered. I have no right to be mad at her. Lilia's just loving.

"I have a feeling you hate the girl Lilia's crushing on." Aalyah uttered.

I shook my head. "No. I can't hate her. She's not doing anything wrong." I told her. "I'm probably just letting my anger out on the two because I'm jealous." That was actually hard to admit out loud.

"You're allowed to be jealous because of your feelings. But you can't be mad just because she doesn't like you the way you like her." She explained to me.

"I know."

"But then again, it's just a crush." Aalyah said, making me pay more attention to her. "It's not like Lilia is dating the girl. You may have a chance." She stated.

I chuckled at her, "I don't know what Jae's telling you, but you get her good."

"Jae did not tell me anything. We're saying you have a chance because we've seen you interact first hand. Why'd you think we teased you on our way home?" She stopped for a moment, giving me time to think. But I shrugged, giving up. "Because we saw a chemistry between you two. That was your second meeting, and yet it looked like you guys have always been friends." I smiled at what Aalyah said, flattering myself. "You're blushing." She pointed out.

I picked up my phone from the bed, turned it on, and opened instagram. I smiled foolishly when I saw that I had been added to her close friends list. I viewed it. My smile faded away.

"You're frowning again?" Aalyah noticed the shift of my emotions.

I showed her what's on Lilia's story. "It's a tiktok about loving a volleyball player." I groaned and rolled my eyes.

"You know what? I'm gonna let you deal with that. Goodbye!" Aalyah waved goodbye and left my room.

When she left, I then checked my inboxes. Lilia has messaged me. I wanted to ignore her. But I can't. So, I opened it.
