Baelor's painting.

Baelor was painted holding a sword.

In 114, after the family resided to Pentos, where the pentoshi Prince Reggio Haratis welcomed them with open arms, Baelor became a knight. It was a fortnight after the wedding of Princess Rhaenyra and Ser Laenor took place—none of them attended it.

Prince Baelor knew that, as the eldest son and child, he could not remain unmarried. He sought council with his father, and together they decided that Baelor should seek a suitable match to secure the family's future. The most eligible candidate for marriage was Lady Laena Velaryon herself. Not only did such a match secure an alliance with House Velaryon, but it was also a way to return the favour for everything Lord Corlys and Princess Rhaenys had done for them.

It was by far not a marriage for love, but it was undeniable that Prince Baelor and Lady Laena made a fine and attractive couple. It was one of the requirements that Lady Laena's groom enter knighthood before the marriage, and so Baelor became a knight.

A year later, Baelor and Laena married—much to some's disliking. For the first two years, they remained in Pentos with Baelor's family (also Laena's if we consider the Velaryons as such) before leaving to explore the rest of Essos. It was still in Pentos that Lady Laena became with child—children in her case—she gave birth to two little girls, whose parentage was soon (in secrecy) put to question. But we will dive into that later.

The pair named their daughters Baela and Rhaena. Baela, after Baelor's grandsire Baelon and also himself, to continue the tradition. Rhaena, on the other hand, was named after Laena's mother Rhaenys.

It was no secret that Baelor still longed for Rhaenyra, but for the respect he held for his lady-wife, he remained devoted and faithful. Even if it meant selling his own heart for a stone.

Visenya's painting.

Visenya was painted dressed in her new fur coat.

In 116 A.C., a raven reached them all the way from the north. Lord Rickon Stark wished to marry off his eldest son, Benjen Stark. Since Princess Rhaenyra was already married and House Stark wished to form an alliance with House Targaryen, they proposed a match between Benjen and one of Prince Daemon's daughters.

The conversation between Daemon and Daenerys was brief. Visenya was to marry the future lord of the Winterfell.

As much as Visenya disliked it, she knew there was no way out of this arrangement. Besides, she knew the family was soon to be torn apart. Baelor was married, Maekar and Alyssa were soon to be too; perhaps this was the right path after all. Mayhaps she could even make her parents proud.

Still, it did not prevent her from pleading with her father to keep her by his side. However, Daemon's decision was final. Visenya married Benjen Stark in 117 A.C., making it the first of two weddings that happened that year.

While she would often grumble about how the constant cold was not fit for a dragon, she soon got accustomed to the northern lifestyle and for a long time it seemed the fierce daughter of Daemon Targaryen settled in.

Maekar's painting.

Maekar was painted holding his head high.

In 117 A.C., after his older sister Visenya married Benjen Stark, Maekar knew he was next in line to be wed. The boy of sixteen feared such a fate and so pleaded with his mother to delay any arrangements. While his mother's compassionate heart understood his reluctance, Daemon refused to let Maekar delay any longer.
