"Done checking me out?"

My thoughts were put into halt when I heard him utter these words kaya agad na nag-init ang mukha ko at mas lalong bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko.

Fuck! That was embarrassing.

Nag-iwas ako ng tingin at saka tumikhim, hoping to salvage my remaining composure.

"Who are you, anyway? And where the hell am I?" Tanging nasabi ko na lang at inilibot ang panigin sa kabuoan ng silid.

The room was a modern masterpiece, blending luxury and simplicity. The dark color palette gave it an elegant and mysterious aura.

Nasa gitna ang kama na siyang hinihigaan ko ngayon. The bed is dressed in plush, dark linens. On both sides of the bed were sleek, black nightstands with minimalistic lamps casting a soft glow.

The large floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning view of the city's skyline, the lights from the buildings twinkling like stars against the night sky. Basing on the view from the window here, I think I'm in a sort of condo ata o hotel ba. Hindi ako sigurado.

Heavy curtains framed the windows, adding a touch of sophistication. A piece of abstract art hung on the wall across me, its intricate lines adding a hint of intrigue.

My attention was shifted to him when he spoke.

I was waiting for him to add more context to what he just said but there was nothing but silence. He didn't even bother answering my first question.

I just stared at him during those moments of silence and he stared back at me, too.

I was about to ask for his name again when we were interrupted by a knock.

"Come in," sabi naman ng kaharap ko kaya bumukas ang pinto ng silid at iniluwa no'n ang isang hindi-katandaang lalaki.

"Lord Fulgencio is requesting your presence in your study, Young Master Elias," sabi nung lalaking kakapasok lang. He didn't even dare to look at me.

So his name is Elias, huh? Elias as in yung tauhan sa El Fili at Noli Me? Pfft.

Kahit na gustong gusto kong tumawa ay pinigilan ko ang sarili dahil baka ma-weirdohan sila sa akin. Who knows baka mainis tong si Elias at baka barilin na lang ako bigla. Mahirap na noh.

Tumayo sa pagkakaupo si Elias kaya agad na yumuko iyong lalaki at dali daling naglakad palabas ng kwarto.

Elias then looked at me coldy. Shet. Kung may powers lang siguro ang mga mata nito baka matagal na akong naging yelo.

"Stay here," he ordered, his voice firm and leaving no room for argument. "Don't even think about leaving this room."

He turned and strode towards the door, his posture radiating authority. The door clicked shut behind him, and I was left alone in the luxurious prison—-, I mean room.

Me? Rasha Aurora? Will stay in this room? Hah! Of course I will not obey his words. Sino ba siya para sundin ko? Sure he has the same name as the lead male character which is Elias Maverick pero impossible naman kung siya yun. Madami namang Elias sa mundo.

According to the novel, Kinara and Maverick's first meeting was during Phoebe's 50th birthday kaya impossible namang mauna ang pagkikita namin. Eh so far maayos pa naman ang timeline ng istorya base na rin sa mga pinaggagawa ko. So impossible na siya si Elias na as in Elias Maverick, 'di ba? 'Di ba?

Itinigil ko na ang pag-iisip tungkol kay Elias at sa male lead at nagsimula ng mag-isip kung paano makatakas dito.

The room sure was high up, but there had to be another way out.
