The morning sun streamed through the window as Alaric awoke, the memories of the previous night's party still vivid in his mind. The festivities had been grand, but now it was time to return to their kingdom. Alaric found himself missing his father and friends, yet a corner of his mind lingered on thoughts of Duke Cederic and Priest Gabriel. He wasn't sure why, but they often occupied his thoughts.
After preparing for departure, Alaric joined the others, feeling a mix of anticipation and trepidation. Just as he finished getting ready, there was a knock on his door. Crown Prince Lucian stood there(Alaric heart slightly palpates) , ready to escort him to bid farewell to the king.
They made their way through the palace, and as they approached the king's chamber, Alaric was relieved not to see Prince Elias among the gathered nobles. For reasons he couldn't quite explain, Elias always made him feel uneasy, like a predator eyeing its prey.
As they reached the king, Alaric noticed Julian, the game's protagonist shou, standing nearby. Julian greeted Alaric with a simple nod and then turned his attention to Prince Lucian, flashing his charming smile. A sudden, inexplicable pang struck Alaric's heart, leaving him momentarily disoriented. Lucian returned Julian's greeting with a curt nod.
Julian was also to return with them as an ambassador, so he would be traveling together. With everything packed and ready, the group moved towards their carriages. Alaric and Lucian shared one, and as they prepared to depart, Alaric noticed someone he hadn't seen for days—Julian's attendant, Elias. Alaric found it strange that Elias shared the same name as Crown Prince Elias, though their faces were different. However, Elias' eyes held an uncanny resemblance to the prince's, which unsettled Alaric.
Elias greeted Alaric with a polite smile, but Alaric couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Just then, Lucian called out, breaking Alaric's thoughts and helping him board the carriage. Julian followed suit, boarding their carriage behind them.
As they settled , In Julian carriage
Julian's unease in the presence of his attendant, Elias, who was earlier watching the carriage(the one Alaric boarded)with an intense gaze.
Once inside, Elias leaned close to Julian and whispered, "Remember what you need to do. I might reward you." His smile was strange, as if he were not merely an attendant. Julian nodded, his voice barely audible, "Yes, my prince."
Suddenly, Elias grabbed Julian's mouth, his voice a harsh whisper, "Hush, I am just an attendant, remember, young master." Julian's eyes widened with fear and something else , he nodded obediently and his eyes are slightly dewy and slight blush on his face .
With that unsettling exchange, their journey began. Alaric felt a growing urgency to return home.
