Krisha woke up and squinted her eyes to adjust the sunlight falling directly on her face. She turned around and smiled seeing the peacefully sleeping face of her husband.

Husband. The word itself invoked so many feelings in her. A content sigh escaped her lips as she recalled how they met and the event of the past few weeks.

Krisha was finished with her college and had just turned 21. She always knew that she didn't want to work or do a job.

People called her mad for considering marriage at such a young age but that's what she's always wanted.

She never understood why her friends made fun of her choice of not doing a job and deciding to be a housewife. She had never made fun of them for pursuing jobs and careers. It was their personal choice. Then why was she berated for her choice.

Not everyone is made for doing jobs and working. And what was wrong with wanting to be a housewife.

She hated how people misconstrued being a housewife with being dependent on people. Housewifes are not dependent. If anything, it is the men of the house who are completely depended upon their wives.

All her life she had seen people keep her mother on a low footing because she was a housemaker. They considered her dependent and inferior to her father.

It was not so. The only thing she didn't do was earn her own money. She could do so any time. But if she asked her father to work in home for even a day, she was sure he couldn't survive.

The man who didn't even know where his clothes were kept in his own house was independent? Oh the irony!

Krisha had been clear from the start that she wants a man who could understand her choice and support her instead of berating her like others.

So when her parents came with an alliance for her, she didn't ask anything else and asked whether his mother was working or not. Because a man who couldn't respect his housemaker mother wouldn't respect her too.

It was after getting sure of this aspect that she asked about his name and other things.

Aakash Singhal.

Everything was fine with her. She just had a small query in her heart. His age. He was 8 years older than her.

Why would he say yes to someone so younger than him. She was practically a child in front of him.

Their first meet was like any other arrange marriage meet. Awkward and silent. Krisha was too shy and he couldn't gather courage to ask her father to talk to her in private.

So whatever conversation they've had before marriage was in front of atleast one of their family members. The two were not alone even for a single minute.

The first they were left alone was their wedding night which was the previous night.

And safe to say, it was super awkward for both of them. Even for someone so bubbly and cheerful like Krisha who, although shy could make anyone comfortable with her happy nature.

Krisha chuckled as she remembered how awkward he had got last night when he entered the room and saw her sitting on the bed with her viel over her head.

Aakash entered the room really tired from all the pre, post and wedding rituals. He was still not habitual of having her in his room so he entered inside without knocking but stopped short seeing her sitting with a viel over her head.

He cursed himself in his mind and cleared his throat.

"Umm-I'm sorry-I should have-knocked."

Why was he stuttering so much? Get a grip Aakash! That's your wife!

Krisha lowered her head and pursed her lips to control her laughter. He sounded so cute.

"It's ok. It's your room."

"Not anymore. It's yours too from now. I should have knocked. I'll take care from the next time."

He said and she nodded without any other argument. She was happy that he was respectful and was considering her privacy.

But when he didn't make any move to remove her viel, she looked up to see him standing at his place with a frown and staring at the floor.

"Umm-suniye?"

She didn't know what to call him. She couldn't take his name. One, he was her husband and two, he was quite older than her.

Aakash's attention snapped to her and he asked.

"Haan? You want something?"

"Ji wo-aapko ye ghunghat uthana hai."

His ears went pink hearing her and he cleared his throat.

"Umm-haan-mai bas -"

He sighed and sat in front of her. He softly lifted her viel and as soon as their eyes met he was lost in them. Just like he had when he had first seen her picture and her in real life.

She had something in her eyes which pulled him towards her. Something he could never resist. And right now, her eyed adorned with kajal and mascara looked the most beautiful to him.

"You're so beautiful."

He whispered and without a second thought leaned in to place a soft kiss on her forehead. She closed her eyes cherishing his touch and smiled.

"Thank you."

At her words, he realised what he'd done and went pink again.

"I'm sorry I-actually-all this is too new for me. I just can't process how to converse with my wife."

He said rubbing his neck sheepishly and she grinned.

"Koi baat nhi. Mujhe bhut experience hai husband se baat krne ka."

He frowned at her statement and asked.

"Wo kaise?"

"Bachpan se bhut shaadiyan kr chuki hu mai. Aapne mere paanchwe husband ho."

He looked at her shocked.

"W-what?"

At his flabbergasted expression she burst out laughing and said.

"You're so cute! Mazak kr rhi hu. Experience mujhe bhi nhi hai. Lekin seekh jaayenge."

He sighed and lowered his head. A chuckle escaped his lips and he looked at her. One look at each other's face and they burst out laughing.

Krisha chuckled remembering all this. She giggled as a mischievous idea struck her. Taking a strand of her hair she tickled his ear. He scrunched his nose in his sleep and swatted the strand away.

She bit her lip to control her laughter and did it again and again until he woke up.

He looked at her with narrowed eyes and she laughed.

"Good morning!"
