"can i ask you a question, seokkie?"
"anything, my princess." seokmin shot jisoo a glance that was sitting on the passenger seat while staring at him because as per the older said, he wants to ask him a question. but when jisoo didnt utter any words for the following seconds, seokmin had to shoot him another glance. "what is it, jisoo? ask it to me already."
the younger could see the hesitation in jisoo's eyes even the way he was pursing his lips like as if he was contemplating whether to ask the question that popped up inside his head or nah. and as long as seokmin wants to stare at his princess longer until the older would finally say something, but he couldn't since he was driving the car back to the mansion and they need to fasten their pace because the weather wasnt good and they can feel that another rain was coming.
when jisoo still hasnt ask him anything, seokmin extended his right hand until it reach to held jisoo's left hand and swiftly, just like he did earlier, he intertwined their fingers just for jisoo to know that whatever he's going to ask, seokmin would answer it with full honesty. because when did seokmin lied to jisoo? ever since then when he kidnapped his princess, seokmin couldn't remember when did the time he lied over to jisoo. he couldn't because he never did. and he would never be.
jisoo heave a sighed. "i dont know if i have the rights to ask this but..." there finally, after a minute of silence, jisoo uttered a words already. seokmin shot him a glance then he squeezed their hands together. "may i know where's your mother?"
with that question, seokmin looked sideways on his left trying to avoid jisoo on his vision, but he had to get his gazes back in front because he was driving and there he could see through his peripheral vision that jisoo was staring at him prolly was waiting for his response regarding to that question. which honestly, only anton and lee chan knows the history of his family and seokmin never talked about it to other person even to his friends and his officers that has been working even before his father died.
its not like they have a very dark family history that seokmin never wanted to talk about it in the present time and its not like he was traumatized about it.. its just, he doesn't want to be remembered what happened before and most especially he doesn't want to remember that he still has actually a mother. though he doesn't have any news about her but seokmin's sure she's still alive. and though she was never there during his father's burial, but seokmin knew she's still out there.
seokmin clicked his tongue. "in another family." then he swallowed hard after being remembered where his mother was right now and though he doesn't want to remember it, but he knows he has to answer jisoo plus he doesn't want to lie to his princess. and he realized that nothing will change either he said it or not. "i dont know though. ever since father and her divorced, i dont have any news about her anymore."
the younger looked away again as he turned the steering wheel swiftly using one hand since the other one was still holding jisoo's, as the car turned to the left where the highway was going back to the mansion. with what he responded to jisoo, seokmin felt how the older tried to squeezed their hands together probably was trying to comfort him when seokmin doesn't feel any pain anymore. it doesnt pained him. talking about his mother and being remembered how she treated them, doesnt pained him.
it doesn't pained him yet the only thing remains was anger and hatred.
"and i dont care where she is now and she probably doesnt think about me anymore." seokmin added, realizing how he was in her mother right now.
