Standing there, with her parents and brothers, all of them ready to see the conversations she had with her the day before. She knew that she needed to show them everything, including aspects that may have been better to keep hidden. But she needed to tell them everything, needed to stand tall and face any consequences. She was ready to take Nyx's jealousy, Ikarads sorrow and anger. She was ready for disappointment from both Rhys and Feyre, she was female, young, she had much to learn. Heck, just a year before she had believed that she was Tamlins daughter.
One by one her family's powers left her mind. First her brothers, who both had a cold look to them, then it was her mother. Who looked to be in pain.. Lastly her father withdrew his hand from her mind, the silence in the room grew to a pressing one. Her mother held on to her mate's arm as they stood there, looking at her in awe.
Say something. She begged, Say something... It might be a mistake, what if everything was a mistake and that she had misunderstood everything?
"It explains a lot." Her father said, breaking the silence. "Almost everything."
"Yes..." Her mother's breathless word made her relax for a moment. "Amaya..."
"I can do it." Amaya said, standing tall. "I am prepared to work for it." She was not afraid, no this was a task that was hers to pick up and do.
"I know." her mother came forward and wrapped her arms around her. "Not made, but born. A true testament to change." It was. Amaya smiled against her mother's shoulder. Knowing that this was her path.
"Nyx?" She looked up to see why her father called out to her older brother. Nyx stood by himself, shaking as he had his hands pressed over his nose and mouth. "We all knew that it might not be you-"
"I knew it." Nyx only said, and lowered his hands, revealing a smile. "I knew it..." Amaya smiled back, waving for him to come over.
You are free. She said over to him, and his midnight blue eyes lit up. If you need to go... Nyx shook his head.
He has waited for me for almost fifty years, a day won't change that. She squeezed her brother's arm, trying to show her support. He looked lighter, like a burden had been lifted, freeing him to be himself for the first time in his life. Then her attention changed to Ikarad.
He stood with his arms crossed, five stones visible on his hands, shoulders and chest. He looked more troubled, his brows wrinkled in deep thought.
"Ikarad, I..." She tried to take a step forward but Ikarad stopped her. His hand trembled in the air.
"I need to talk to Etera about this." He then said, focusing on their parents. "This was our decision to share. Not some Seer, not Orions."
"I am sorry." She said, hoping to ease the blow this revelation had on him. "For everything." Ikrarad didn't respond, no, he stood there, shaking. The knot in Amayas stomach grew larger. This might not be something she could fix, this might be a crack between her and her brother that might take years to overcome.
"Why didn't you tell us?" Ferye asked. "We would have supported you."
"Not now." He turned away from them and left. Amaya pressed her hands over her chest, hoping that it would lessen the pain from his reaction.
"I am sorry!" She called out after him again. But he had already taken flight. Leaving them alone in the River Estate.
"They need a moment." Nyx spoke up. "And I understand them."
"We didn't know..." Feyre whispered, "Etera did so much that day, she tried... I can't imagine..."
"It was her choice..." Rhys tried to consolidate, but for Amaya it all gave her a bad feeling.
