Shattered Ideals. (By Sapphirus)

In the dim light of the solitary room,
He found himself staggering in the dark corners,
As the shadows danced in harmony and echoing voices,
"He" stood before him as his reflection in the mirror,
He who was called the evil,
A conversation embedded with the darkness itself,
As his cascading darkness whispered a hymn,
A hymn so seductive,

"Oh Sapphirus, I have been your ally, have I not?"
"Oh Sapphirus, I have been your shield in countless wars~"
"Oh Sapphirus, it is I who granted you power~"
"It is I who granted you wealth, Sapphirus~"
"Oh Sapphirus, do you see the world from your throne of bones?"

He rejected his voices,
The voices threatened him and result was the throne,
Wicked voices,
Oh the wicked voices,
His conscience fragile yet resolute in the darkened rooms,
As he revolts with his trembling voice,
Yet he booms,

"But at what cost, my shadowed twin?"
"My soul is weary and scarred for eternity, my shadowed twin~"
"My heart is burdened, my shadowed twin~"
"In the wake of our conquest I have only witnessed ruin and despair, my shadowed twin~"
"Nothing but ruthless destruction, my shadowed twin~"
"For every victory you claimed, a piece of me lost, my shadowed twin~"

Darkness smirks in response to his weakness,
His crimson gaze amused by such fragility,

"Oh Sapphirus, shall you look around for the world is but a wasteland~"
"Oh Sapphirus, the world is filled with deceit and vice~"
"Oh Sapphirus, it is the universal law for the powerful devour the weak~"
"Oh Sapphirus, the innocent fall without a sound~"
"Oh Sapphirus, justice is but a mere fairytale~"
"Oh Sapphirus, virtue is a whisper lost in cacophony~"

In the dim light of the solitary room,
He clenched his fists as his eyes burned with loosing hope,

"I have seen the carnage, my shadowed twin~"
"I have felt the weight of our sins, my shadowed twin~"
"Yet the flicker of humanity is the only jewel I hold, my shadowed twin~"
"For in the darkest night, a single star can guide those who lost, my shadowed twin~"

In the dim light of the solitary room,
Darkness scoffs,
A haunting laughter,
Gravel grinding against absolute stone,

"Naive Sapphirus, oh Sapphirus~"
"Oh Sapphirus, the stars you see are snuffed of greed and wrath~"
"Oh Sapphirus, betrayal festers every heart~"
"Oh Sapphirus, violence brews in every corner~"
"Oh Sapphirus, embrace me fully shall you?"
"Oh Sapphirus, feel immortal, supreme and revered~"

In the dim light of the solitary room,
He shakes his head in utter denial,
Memories of pain etched deep within the corners of his soul,

"I embraced you once, my shadowed twin~"
"I embraced you once, and felt the void, my shadowed twin~"
"In the eyes of those I trampled, and I witnessed reflection of those who fell, my shadowed twin~"
"For you are to blame in the crossroad I stand, my shadowed twin~"
"Torn between two worlds of right and wrong~"

In the dim light of the solitary room,
Darkness leans closer as he whispers in his ears,
Tendrils wrapping around his resolve,

"Oh Sapphirus, don't you recall the taste of power?"
"Oh Sapphirus, don't you cherish the thrill of unchallenged might?"
"Oh Sapphirus, in a world of devoid mortals your conscience is but a chain~"
"Oh Sapphirus, break free~"
"Oh Sapphirus, break free~"

In the dim light of the solitary room,
He whispers a prayer of silent strength,
A man divided in shadows and luminous,
A soul stranded in perpetual conflict,
Seeking but redemption in world fractured beyond repair,
For in his heart,
Although torn in shreds of his past,
Love and hope may yet prevail.
