Neglected

In the back of my mind

I woke up excited for my busy day. I checked the clock, it was 9:23am and my ballet class was at 11:00.

I started getting ready and putting my hair in a slick high bun. I was so excited that I was smiling from ear to ear.

I remembered that I got burnt out
Because of all the pressure of succeeding in the ballet world but now I felt that I was free to dance without the pressure.

I put on my warm ups which were a pair of gray sweatpants and a wide neck sweater.

I walked over to Luke's after packing my bag.

"Morning Luke." I smiled walking through the door.

"Morning Tilda." He smiled back. I felt that I was getting to know Luke better and that he was getting more comfortable too.

"A coffee and an omelette please." I requested.

"Wow, healthy this morning."

"Yep, going back to ballet so I've got to get back in shape.

"Ballet huh?"

"Yes I'm super excited to be back." I smiled.

"Hey." I heard a voice say next to me.

"Morning Jessica." I smiled.

He rolled his eyes sitting on the bar stool next to me.

"Back to ballet I see." He said eyeing my bag.

"Yes." I replied excitedly.

"I'll pick you up after." He smirked.

"Yes please, it ends at 13:00."

Luke handed me my breakfast and I ate quickly before walking to miss Patty's.

I got there with 20 minutes to spare and spent my time stretching and warming up.

I saw all the girls start showing up and I saw a few whispering in the corner looking at me. Somethings never change.

"Hello class, today we have a potential student here with us today. Please welcome Matilda Gilmore." Miss Patty introduced me.

"Tell me dear where did you dance before?" she asked.

"Royal ballet school." I answered earning a few whispers between the girls.

"Oh wow." Miss Patty said in shock.

The class started with barre and it was all going smoothly. I was having so much fun.

It was time to put our pointe shoes on for the last hour of class. This is what I was a bit nervous for.

But it all went surprisingly well. I guess it had all of the technique was all there still, in the back of my mind.

"That's all for today." Miss Patty smiled.

"Matilda I would love you to join our class." Miss Patty said.

"I'd be happy to." I smiled excitedly before thanking her and leaving.

I threw my warm ups back on and headed out the door spotting Jess leaning against a lamp post reading.

I walks up to him and tapped him on the shoulder getting him to look up.

"Hey." I smiled. He just grabbed my arm and pulling me to the lake.

"What happened to hello?" I laughed.

"Just had to get somewhere quiet." He grinned.

"Come on let's go to my place." I said.

We walked over and went in my room.

"I'll just shower and change and I'll be ready." I told him.

He nodded taking his place on my bed and grabbing the book on my night stand.

I showered quickly and put on a dark red henley shirt and blue jeans. I blow dried my hair before walking out the bathroom.

"Let's go." I said grabbing a hair tie.

"Let's go." He smiled.

We walked over to the bridge our usual hang out spot and sat on it.

He had this act of being this tuff guy but on the inside he was the sweetest guy in the world.

"Oh shit." I mumbled looking at my watch.

"We have a shift at Luke's that starts in 10 minutes!" I got up quickly and so did Jess. We walked to the diner and spotted Lorelai and Rory at a table.

"Hey guys." I said sitting at their table. Jess ran upstairs just for Luke to drag him down a minute later.

"You guys need to restock the storage room." Luke said. Me and Jess looked at each other groaning.

"Bye Tilda." Lorelai smiled continuing her conversation with Rory.

We started unboxing boxes full of supplies. I was putting bags of coffee beans away when I felt a presence behind me.

I turned around my eyes meeting a chest.

"Huh, where'd your head go." I joked looking up.

"Come here." He chuckled kissing me while holding onto my waist. My hands moved up to the back of his neck. It was getting pretty heated when we heard a gasp.

It was Luke standing at the door. We froze, me and Jess both staring at him with eyes wide open.

"Lorelai!" He yelled racing out to the diner.

Me and Jess give each other a nervous look before running after Luke.

"They were making out in the storage room and I walked in." Luke blurted out to Lorelai.

"Congratulations." Lorelai joked.

"We will get back to work." Jess said pulling me with him by my hand.

"Jess stop!" Luke yelled grabbing his nephews shoulder and pulling him upstairs. Jess looked at me scared making me chuckle before sitting down at Lorelai's and Rory's table.

"So you and Jess huh." Rory broke the silence.
