"So what happened?" Asked Jess after the kids parents came to take them to breakfast.

Lucy tried to flirt with Jess and got annoyed when her parents made her go get breakfast.

"A fire." I sighed as we sat down on the bench.

"Really, wow." He said in a shocked tone raising his eyebrows.

"Yeah pretty crazy, now we have to find places for the guests to stay tonight." I said.

"You okay?" He asked wrapping his arm around me and pulling me closer.

"Mhm." I replied resting my head on his shoulder. He kissed the top of my head lightly before rubbing my shoulder as we sat in silence.

My cell started to ring so I dug it out of my jacket pocket and answered.

"Matilda meet me at Luke's in 5." Said Lorelai before hanging up.

"Come on we're Luke's." I said grabbing Jess' hand and pulling him up.

"Why?" He asked as we started to walk.

"Duty calls." I replied looking up at him making him chuckle and pull me closer.

"You summoned." I said sitting down across from Lorelai.

"Honey I need to to let me finish my offer before you say anything alright?" She said passing me a mug filled with hog coffee.

"Okay?" I said unsure of what was to come.

"So basically I need to move some of the inn guests to your room for the night, but just one night. You can stay at Lane's." She said trying to make it sound fun.

"Fine, I'll do it for 2 new books." I said putting out my hand.

"Deal." She replied shaking my hand.

After drinking my coffee I decided to go track down Lane and see if she even knew about this set up.

"Lane?" I yelled walking through the door of Kim's antiques.

"Oh hey." She said walking down the stairs.

"Did you know that I have strangers staying at my house?" I asked.

"Yeah, pretty crazy arrangement." She chuckled.

"So um I was wondering if I could stay with you tonight?"

"Sorry but Rory's staying here and my mum wouldn't allow it." She said.

"Well thanks anyways." I smiled before saying goodbye and leaving the Kim residence.

I had no idea who to ask so I decided to go back to Luke's and rant about my problem to him.

"Luke." I said sitting down at the counter.

"What." He sighed.

"I'm homeless."

"What?" He asked with a confused expression on his face.

"I have no place to sleep." I continued making him even more confused.

"I need to hear a bit more kid." He groaned adjusting his cap.

"The guests from the inn are staying in my room and I have no place to go, I'm homeless." I said in a bit of a dramatic tone whilst resting my elbows on the counter.

Luke sighed and pinched the area between his brows before answering.

"Fine you can stay upstairs." He grumbled.

"Yay, thanks Lucas." I smiled hopping off of the chair and running back home to get my stuff.

I grabbed my pink duffel bag and grabbed an outfit for tomorrow and some pjs.

I also grabbed my diary off my nightstand after nearly forgetting it.

Wouldn't want anyone reading the insides.

"Lorelai!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs.

"Yes?" She replied.

"I'll see you at some point later but I'm going to Luke's now." I said happily.

"Good you have a place to sleep. Okay hon see you soon." She said kissing my forehead before I left.
