It was the first day of school and I was brushing my hair In the morning, putting it in a half up half down with a barrette on top.

It was my last first day of high school and I was feeling extra sentimental. Where does the time really go?

"We're leaving in 5!" Yelled Lorelai's muffled voice  from downstairs.

"Coming!" I yelled grabbing my backpack and taking one last look in the mirror and smiling at myself.

The leaves were starting to change colour and the air was getting chillier. It was nearly my favourite season.

"Good morning Lucas." Smiled Lorelai as we walked into the crowded diner.

"Hey, sit somewhere." He said as he rushed around the room.

We sat by the window and decided to play 1,2,3 he's yours.

"The usuals?" Asked Luke with his little notebook in hand.

"Absolutely."

"So, last first day of high school." Said Lorelai receiving her coffee from Luke.

"I'm excited." Smiled Rory pouring a packet of sugar in her coffee.

"Me too." I grinned noticing Kirk run into the diner.

"Gummy worms!" He yelled standing in the middle of the diner.

"No Kirk not again!" Yelled Luke rolling his eyes.

"Please Luke I need my eggs with gummy worms." He begged sitting in front of the bar.

"I'll only do it if you stop causing a scene." He groaned rolling his eyes.

Kirk immediately shut up and sat up straight making all us Gilmore girls laugh.

"Here you go." Luke grumbled setting down our plates full of food.

"Thanks Luke." I smiled before he walked off. I hadn't seen Jess that morning which I thought was odd since he was usually working at this time in the morning.

I walked up to the counter and asked Luke about him. He said that Jess had some sort of school project he had to go do early at school.

"Oh well I'll see him tonight at work." I said with a tight smile tapping the counter with my fingers before walking back to our table.

"School?" Asked Rory eating the last bite of her breakfast.

"Let's go."

We left for the bus stop and got on the bus right before it left.

School was the same as usual, lots of homework, Paris acting like a lunatic.

"So how was the day?" Asked Rory on our way out the bus.

"Same, same." I sighed.

"You?" I asked.

"The usual." She said as we walked into the house.

I changed into a white sweater and some blue jeans before heading out the door to Luke's.

"Hey Luke." I smiled walking into the storage room finding him sitting, opening boxes.

"Oh hey Matilda." He said looking up at me.

"I'll go take some orders." I said pointing back at the diner earning a nod from him.

"Wait, will you go get Jess?" He asked.

"Upstairs?" I asked.

"Yep."
