008. WE ARE GROOT

Chapter eight

"We are groot." 

Arriving at Xandar, they all saw Ronan's ship in front of them, as they all got into formation "fire!" Yondu voiced, as the front two ships shot out these balls of light, hitting Ronan's ship creating an orange forcefield "cover it down. Submerge!" Yondu voiced, as they all flew their ships downward heading underneath it then back up toward's Ronan's ship from underneath rather in front "Rocket, hurry!" Peter voiced, as Rocket and two other ships flew past them and toward's Ronan's ship to open the hole for them to get in.

Where other ships then began flying out of Ronan's coming toward's them, they began shooting "Quill! Yondu! Now!" Rocket voiced, as Peter began flying off, Yondu flied after them toward's the ship, where they all were exploding other ships as they went along "watch out!" Atara voiced, as a crashing ship came flying toward's them, Peter moved out of the way of it "whoa! I'm going down, Quill! No more games with me, boy! I'll see you. At the end of this." Yondu shared, as they flew into an explosion Peter moved out of the way as they continued being shot at, the left side soon was hit.

"Rocket, we're surrounded! We're not gonna make it!" Atara voiced, as gunfire came from up above, taking down all the ships that we're shooting at them, where when they came into view, it was the Nova corps "Peter Quill. This is Denarian Saal of the Nova corps. For the record, I advicsed against trusting you here." Denarian shared "they got my dick message!" Peter voiced "great! Can we maybe celebrate later!" Atara voiced, as Peter pushed the accelerator they went flying off toward's Ronan's ship, where they headed right through the hole Rocket made, sliding against the ground "yes!" Drax voiced, laughing.

Gunshots began being fired at them, as Peter pulled back on the accelerator, they all yelped as they began spinning, Peter and Atara began shooting at them, where an explosion soon happened, sending those left flying, as they finally stopped moving "yes!" Drax voiced, laughing again, Atara exhaled as her and Peter looked to each other "there's your twelve percent." Atara told him.

As they all then got up and headed out of the ship with their weapons, where as the ship door closed behind them, they were surrounded in darkness "I can barely see." Drax shared, as Groot held his hand up, fireflies began to fly everywhere lighting up the room, they all looked up at it in awe "when did you learn how to do that?" Drax asked "pretty sure the answer to that is I am groot." Peter shared, as Atara chuckled, Peter looked to her.

"The flight deck is three hundred meters this way." Gamora shared, as she began walking they all followed her "I want you all to know that I am grateful for your acceptance after my blunders. It's pleasing to once again have friends. You, Quill, are my friend." Drax shared "thanks." Peter told him "this dumb tree here, he is my friend." Drax said, as Groot hummed "and this green whore she.." Drax said, as Gamora turned to him "oh you must stop!" she voiced, as Atara saw someone drop down from the ceiling, she notched an arrow and took aim.

"Gamora, look at what you have done. You have always been weak. You stupid, traitorous.." Nebula was saying, as Atara let her arrow fly, which glowed red as it set off an explosion, sending Nebula flying back "she talks too much." Atara shared "head to the flight deck. You come with me to shut down the security doors." Gamora shared, as her and Atara began walking off, Peter, Drax and Groot went left.

Where as Gamora and Atara got closer to shutting off the power, Nebula got back up, fixing eveyr robotic bone that had been broken "Nebula, please." Gamora told her, holding her hands up while Atara moved to put her bow down, Nebula swung her knife at Gamora and as she did, Atara swung her bow, smacking Nebula in the face while Gamora grabbed her by the arm and elbowed her in the back, where as she went down on her knees, Atara spun around kicking her in the face "go!" she voiced.

As Gamora turned running to the security panel, she pulled it down, as Nebula stood up, pulling out her swords, she swung one at her as Atara dodged it, Nebula swung another one at her head, as Atara ducked underneath it, she came back up as Nebula swung them both at her, she blocked it with her bow, as Nebula kicked her footup sending Atara to the ground, Nebula swung her swords at her as Atara rolled out of the way.

Nebula swung at her, where Atara brought her bow up blocking both of them, Nebula then pulled back, swinging at her face, Atara leaned back and as she came back up her hood fell off her head "the rumors on Knowhere are true, the lost princess of Alfheim has come out of hiding." Nebula shared, swinging her swords at her, Atara blocked them and shoved them back, she spun around kicking Nebula in the face.

Where as Nebule stood back up, an explosion hit where they stood, as the two of them along with Gamora looked to it, but as the shock wore off, Nebula turned swinging her sword at Atara, but as she did, Gamora ran over blocking her hit "Gamora! Atara! Go ahead and open the door!" Peter voiced, as Nebula swung at them, the two of them blocked her hit, where as they did, Atara swung her foot up, kicking Nebula in the face, as she stumbled back "open the door!" Atara voiced "I am not leaving you with her!" Gamora voiced.

As Nebula swung her sword back at them, the two blocked it, where the two used their strength and sent one of Nebula's swords flying out the hole nearby, where as they did, Nebula then jabbed them with her sword sending an electric shock through the both of them, Gamora and Atara screamed, as the two looked at each other, they dropped their weapons and backed up, running at Nebula they both kicked their foot up, sending her flying out of the hole.

Gamora turned to Atara "pull the wires." she shared "what are you gonna do?" Atara asked her "I'm gonna save my sister." Gamora told her, running toward's the hole, Atara looked down, grabbing her bow and Gamora's sword, she ran toward's the glowing green panel, reaching her hand through the green smoke, she pulled one of the wires, and as she did, Gamora ran up to her with a blaster, shooting it into the wall nearby, the two ran and jumped through it, seeing two guards, Atara pulled out of her arrows and shot one while Gamora blasted the other.

The two then ran up to Groot, Drax and Peter, standing there and looking ahead of them at Ronan, who turned to face them, Peter then pressed the button sending one of the bullets out of the gun rocket made but as it touched his chest, this bright light could be seen as they all quickly turned away except for Peter.

Where as they turned back, nothing but smoke could be seen, as Peter took his helmet off "you did it!" Drax voiced, and for a second it seemed like he did until a shadow could be seen rising up from the floor, where Ronan turned to them, Peter looked to Atara, as Atara and Gamora looked to him, they all then looked back at Ronan who aimed his scepter that had the infinity stone on it at them, all of them went flying back.

Drax got up and ran toward's Ronan while Groot, Peter, Atara and Gamora all got up watching him, as Drax got grabbed by the neck and lifted off the floor "I was mistaken. I do remember your family. Their screams were pitiful. I.." Ronan was saying, as a ship came crashing in, knocking down Ronan and Drax, Atara turned tackled Gamora to the ground while Peter ran and tackled Groot.

The entire room they were in seemed to fall apart as an explosion could be heard, Atara stood up, looking to the ship "Rocket!" she voiced, running toward's him, Peter ran after her, Atara climbed onto the ship, grabbing Rocket out of it, Peter helped her down, as the two walked over to Groot, Gamora had dragged Drax over, where they all crouched down to him, the ceiling was coming down around them, they all knew they were falling out of the sky.

And so did Groot as he began holding his arms out and moving them around them all, Atara looked down seeing Rocket waking up, Groot surrounded them all in a cage made of his branches, where Rocket was able to stand up, as Groot let the fireflies out once more lighting up the darkness "no, Groot! You can't. You'll die! Why are you doing this!" Rocket voiced, looking at Groot's face "why?" he asked "we are groot." Groot said, and as he did, Atara grabbed onto Peter and as she did, Peter put his arms around her, all of them braced themselves for impact, as they very quickly soon hit a couple buildings, crashing onto the ground.
